June 2008: The SAG-30 grenade launcher has been sold to the US DOD.

This weapon is very similar to the grenade launcher RAG-30, but with a breech mechanismfiring from the closed bolt.

Weapon is designed as semi-automatic (auto loading) only, without capability of the burstfiring. It should be deployed within the smallest tactical units on the battlefield as its supportiveartillery. This weapon is designed to be carried combat ready for an extended periods of time.

Based on parameters that are similar to theRAG - 30, this weapon's role is elimination ofunprotected enemy infantry and light armoredvehicles at medium to larger distance. Lethaleffect of the VOG17 ammunition is 7,5 m, the weapon is easy to maneuver with in different terrains and it is easy to service.

This makes it an efficient means of holding the enemy at bay at the longer distance.
