RHS Five Star Award
Poet visiting school
New Reception Pupils
National Poetry day on Thursday 4th
October was celebrated by inviting a poet to school. The children enjoyed listening to his poems in the school library.
Year 5/6 Trip
We are delighted to announce our 5 star grading awarded by the RHS – an amazing achievement and all thanks to the hard work of the children and the dedication of Mrs George. Well done St Luke’s.
Years 5/6 brought their history learning to life at Armley Mills.
Many parents may have already
seen news reports encouraging
schools to participate in the
‘mile a day’ project to improve
pupils’ fitness. Every day, our
Key stage 2 pupils complete a
mile run around the school,
which not only boosts their
fitness but also their general
well-being. Please see Mr
Wood, our P.E Coordinator, for
more information.
Mile a day
A very warm welcome to our new Reception children. They have settled so well, so quickly, and we are all very
proud of our new recruits!

Attendance
We have had a fantastic start with our school’s attendance. Our current attendance figure is 97.6%, which is above our target of 97%. I am hopeful we will continue to fight off the coughs and colds as the weather turns colder; if your child is feeling a little poorly, they may still be able to attend school with medication such as Calpol.
Miss Lane
Congratulations
We are so pleased to announce the birth of Sebastian James Cuthbert, a second son for Laura & Cameron. Mrs Cuthbert will be returning to school in the summer term. We send our warmest congratulations to the whole family.
Mr Whitehouse is recovering following an operation to correct a congenital heart defect. He is making progress and hoping to be back with us in January. We send him our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Well Wishes.
London
At the request of the DFE, Mrs Booth and Mr Lillywhite recently attended an event at Westminster to speak about how the positive culture at St Luke’s has been created. This culture has been recognised as contributing to the excellent progress made by our pupils.
