Sugar Creek residents got quite the treat last Thursday, October 7, as special visitor performed. In this case it wasn’t quite “The King” but was actually “The King of Hearts” Butch Dicus.
Dicus, an expert Elvis Impersonator performed a plethora of Presley tunes, as well as delving into a bit of country like Johnny Cash.
Residents hit Dicus with a thunderous applause and cheers.
It was almost as if the King had come back.
Dicus has been an Elvis Impersonator for
30 years, and has had the pleasure of performing in various casinos, sporting arenas, corporate events and charity functions.
Dicus even got the opportunity to perform at Humes High School—the school Elvis graduated from—twice.
Dicus, who was also born on Elvis’ birthday, won over the large crowd easily with his strong voice and charismatic stage presence.
Although most were seated, you wouldn’t have been surprised to see a little toe-tapping here or there.

Elvis Impersonator, Butch Dicus, sings a number of classic tunes.
Elvis had a little bit of help with singing, thanks to Grace Mulligan and Joan Lanphere.
Working up a sweat, Dicus gets the king treatment when it comes to drying his brow.
Dicus performed to a crowded and excited audience.Butch Dicus shows some of his moves.
