parent corner in the library.
This week we were able to
purchase a coffee machine
and coffee table and we
await the arrival of some
comfortable furniture for the
parents to share in their time
at school. Nancy Lunnay,
one of our parent council
members has been assisting
me with this development.
We look forward to many
parents enjoying their time
at school and building
community together.
Our Kidsmatter action team
met this week to review the
things we are doing currently
to build student well being.
Next week 5 of our staff will
attend Kidsmatter and Mind
Matters information sessions
in Alice Springs.
Enjoy the week ahead,
In His Service,
Cate Garwood
Principal
Thank you to the many
parents who came to the
college on Tuesday for
the ‘ABBA’ night, to talk
with teachers about your
children. It was good to
also have some MS
parents on Wednesday
afternoon too. We value
being able to partner with
you in your child(ren’s)
education at Araluen
Christian College.
I also received some great
feedback about the flexi-
bility parents have to be
able to book the times
that suit them online. We
also had parents who de-
cided to make contact
with class teachers at a
different time in some
instances. Face to face
communication helps us
to work with you and
enhances the relationships
in our college community.
The College Council and
Directors of the NT
Christian Schools board
invite you to attend the
annual ACC members
meeting and council
elections at 7pm on Monday
7th of March in the Araluen
Christian College
library. All who are
members of NT Christian
Schools are invited to vote
for the council members on
March 7th.
The Middle School
Canberra Camp on August
20th – 26th 2016 has an
information night presented
by Educa-tours for MS
parents and students on
Thursday 10th of March in
the ACC library. A remind-
er to make payments by
instalment for the
Canberra camp $200 is due
by Friday 11th of March.
As we continue to focus on
how relationships and
community matter at ACC
we are developing our
News from the Principal—Week 6
From God’s Word
We have a wonderfully
diverse community of
students, parents & staff at
Araluen Christian College,
Embracing our diversity is
something we do each day.
Galatians 3:26-29 says “So in
Christ Jesus you are all chil-
dren of God through faith, for all of you who were
baptized into Christ have
clothed yourselves with
Christ. There is neither Jew
or non-Jew, neither slave
nor free, nor is there just
male or female, for you are
all one in Christ Jesus.
At ACC we embrace our
diversity and are blessed to
all be one in Christ.
This gives us the responsibil-
ity to think and act in ways
that are truthful and kind and
that glorify God.

Birthday cakes:
It is lovely to see so many of
you bringing in cakes for
your child’s birthday. Could
we ask that you only provide
cupcakes please? Big cakes
are messy to serve and for
the students to eat. Thanks
for your co-operation in
this!
The Government gives
every child a $150 Back to
School voucher. They are
in the office, they can be
used towards uniforms,
book packs and excursions.
You have until the end of
Term 1 to use yours, don’t
forget to pop into the office to
sign it.
