Born out of Fit For Sport’s 25 years of experience and passion to ensure schools and communities are completely engaged in activity, - “We believe that the journey to an active life must start with children.”
Our Active Schools programme supports schools in developing a fully inclusive active curriculum that will engage all children in physical activity. Developed in line with Ofsted requirements this programme will give teachers the confidence and resources to deliver high quality provision across your school.

Fit For sport has developed its Active Schools programme to support schools with all elements of their PE and school sports provision.

Fit For Sport Staff have the following qualifications:
* Minimum Level 2/3 in supporting the delivery of Physical Education and School Sport (QCF)
* Hold Level 2 National Governing Body Coaching qualifications
* Enhanced DBS checked
* Pediatric First Aid trained
* Child Protection and Safeguarding (NSPCC) trained
* Children behavioural management and SEN trained. We also use school systems to ensure safeguarding and behaviour consistency.

Extended School Services provide access to a variety of opportunities beyond the school day, offering parents access to high quality Ofsted registered before and after school provision all year round delivered by Fit For Sport.
Lunchtime and break times provide an ideal opportunity for safe, structured and fun activities to engage all children. Our zoned playground activities provide structure and increase participation by offering different intensity activities including tag, cone games and team games.

Breakfast ClubA perfect way to start the school day giving your child a healthy and nutritious breakfast as well as the opportunity to prepare their bodies and minds by participating in a wide range of activities. An Active Start boosts concentration levels, raises attainment and reduces children’s absence from school.
Extended SchoolsAfter a day of structured learning children need to be able to release their energy from being sedentary in their classrooms. Our after school care not only provides children with a wide range of activities but offers parents who require childcare up to 6pm peace of mind that they will be kept active and engaged by qualified and experienced staff. To keep energy levels up all children receive a healthy and nutritious snack.
One Hour Sports ClubWhen working in schools our Children’s Activity Professionals are able to lead and deliver sport and activity clubs to help enhance children’s skills and raise their participation in a broad range of sports.
Active Playgrounds are proven to improve lunchtime behaviour – in 2014 Fit For Sport recorded a 75% reduction in lunchtime incidents and reduced the time needed by senior management teams to deal with accidents and behaviour problems.

Active Schools Portal:To ensure we continue to support schools we offer our Active Schools Portal. The portal is designed to monitor, track, evaluate all children in your schools activity and fitness levels.
The Portal has been used in the successful Engage to Compete (Sport England) project as well as being utilised within Fit For Sport Schools for over three years to assist, coordinate and enables schools to track the following:
* Activity Challenge results and progress – assessing children’s physical activity levels, enabling year on year analysis, comparisons and benchmarking)
* School Sport Competitions including activity (Intra – in school and Inter – out of school)
* Sports Day participation
* Remote competition (enabling schools to compete against each other without incurring travel costs)

Up-skilling teaching and support staff can help to achieve sustainable improvements in the quality of physical activity in a school. Fit For Sport offer both accredited and non-accredited courses to enable continuous professional development for staff and help your school implement an effective PE curriculum.
Training includes:1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport (QCF)Developed in partnership with the Association for Physical Education (AfPE) and supported by employers and the industry. This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required to enable individuals to support and assist in the delivery of physical education and school sport in a suitable environment.
1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport (QCF) Developed in partnership with the Association for Physical Education (AfPE), this qualification provides the skills and knowledge required to deliver/support the delivery a physical education and school sport programme through curriculum-based and/or extra-curricular activities.
PE Core Activities WorkshopSpecifically designed to help give your teachers the knowledge and confidence to teach physical activity for the term ahead. Your teachers will be given the skills to increase participation in PE lessons. These practical workshops will give them the tools to deliver fully inclusive, high quality lessons that meet national curriculum guidelines. PE core activities include Athletics, Games, Invasion Games, Striking and Fielding, Net and Wall and Outdoor Adventure.
Creating a wider PE and school sport curriculumA series of interactive workshops specifically designed to support all school staff, subject leaders and your senior leadership team to create a whole school inclusive PE and school sport curriculum. Our wide range of workshops include:

Creating an Active PlaygroundThis nationally recognised course gives school staff the skills and confidence to create and lead FUN, inclusive and varied physical activities in the playground. The interactive and practical led workshop helps schools to activate the playground at playtime and lunchtime to help children achieve their 60 minutes of physical activity each day, reduce incidents and accidents and engage everybody in inclusive activity. All training is delivered by our fully qualified and experienced team of PTTLS trainers.
