Built in the 1570’s for Thomas Timperley, grandson of the 3rd Duke of Norfolk, Hintlesham Hall Hotel hides its true age behind the famous Georgian façade. Walk to the stunning rear of this beautiful building, however, and the brickwork confirms Elizabethan origins. The impact of the Georgians is seen also in the vertical sash windows and, inside, in several panelled bedrooms that contrast with their timbered neighbours, and in the soaring double height of the Salon. Earlier, Stuart period designers had put in an oak staircase and a now famous plaster ceiling, the locations of which are linked by the attractive Long Gallery.
The traditional tranquility of Hintlesham Hall Hotel is protected by the Park, the broad lawns to the front, the picturesque rear gardens and pond leading to the rose garden and the orchard beyond. A short stroll along the Laurel walk leads to Hintlesham Golf Clubhouse and its associated Championship PGA golf course.
WEDDING BREAKFASTS Our award winning Head Chef of 26 years, Alan Ford, has prepared some delicious wedding menus to give you a complimentary taste of his style, but he is always delighted to personally discuss your own menu ideas with you.
We are also able to offer you a complimentary menu tasting prior to the day to ensure that you are totally happy with all aspects of the meal. We can offer advice on selecting wines to complement your menu.
As part of our wedding service we are delighted to assist you with the finishing touches, such as typing menu cards, handwriting place cards and typing your table plan for display. Our Food & Beverage Manager is also delighted to act as an informal toastmaster for the occasion, guiding your guests throughout the day and making the necessary announcements on your behalf.
