Ready to send those old bulky keys far, far away? We get it! You’re excited to have Nexkey installed in your space, but now what?
You, as the admin, will receive your smart keys from Nexkey. If you haven’t done so already, download our Nexkey app from the app store, and set up an account to get access to your smart keychain!
This guide will walk you through the entire Nexkey smart access platform. We hope you enjoy!

SHARING ACCESS - APP VS TEXT KEY
AppAccess via Nexkey app, the most common way to use Nexkey for all users.
Text KeyAccess via text, used for guests or

While sharing access, control what times it can be used with “Time Restrictions”.
None - Key can be used 24/7
One Time - Key expires shortly after one time use

RECEIVING A KEY FROM YOU
They are new to NexkeyAfter you send their first key, the user will receive a text notifying them that a key has been shared, and will prompt them to download the Nexkey app and create an account.
They already have a Nexkey accountIf they already have the Nexkey app, they will get a notification within the app telling them a key has been shared.

REMOTE UNLOCK
Under REMOTE, click on the key you want to use. Simply choose Unlock to open door remotely.
Just made business hours? Use remote unlock and select Unlock until <Set time> to start them immediately!

Step 6If it worked, you will see the LED closest to the wall continue to blink.
This can take 5-10 seconds.
Step 5To finish connecting the Controller to Wi-Fi, unlock the door.
CONNECTING TO WI-FI
Sign-in to the Nexkey admin portal to get insights into your space through Dashboards.
Review access trends, send messages to the people in your space, and be notified who and when people had access.
ADMIN PORTAL
Within the Dashboards tab, you can view how many unlocks or users entered on a daily basis for every door connected to Nexkey.
Change your view to a daily, weekly, or monthly basis for the timeframe you select. You can also view this data on a per lock basis or as an aggregate of every lock you choose.
DASHBOARDS
This report in Dashboards shows you how many users have not accessed a key in 7, 14 or 31 days. It can be used as a security flag to review if those users really need access to that space or as a trigger to communicate with inactive users to prevent likely membership cancellation.

INACTIVE USERS REPORT
In the Messaging tab, select whether you want to send a message to everyone (Admins & users) or only admins. Then select the relevant key(s).
Write your message and press Preview. You will have an opportunity to review your message before it is sent out.
Press send, and your audience will get your message in an app notification.
