Systems and Complexity Models and Principles – Core/Shared and Differences Morning Group Breakfast • Welcome and Introductions -‐ origin and purposes of the Lab. • Identify and post personal objectives for the week
• Systems theory: principles, models and methodologies (small group sessions) (5 min) Self-‐introduction (80 min) Discuss model/principles within groups What do I see as the core
principles of my systems theory or practice? How do individual principles, models and theories converge and/or diverge?
(20 min) Prepare group report/presentation to plenary
• Group presentations to plenary:
Share convergences (similarities), divergences (tensions) and synergies between individuals’ approaches, models, and methodologies.
Group Lunch Afternoon • Synthesis of core models and principles (small group discussion/large group
presentations)
• Community Case Study (60 min) Panel of participants (10-‐15 min. ea. to present viewpoint, issues,
opportunities, etc.) (45 min) Group break-‐outs – 4 groups working with leaders from 4 different
community groups; a fifth Meta-‐group provided a systems perspective across individual community working groups
