Our Story
Thank you for thinking that we might be just who you want to adopt your baby. Our first chapter
started 17 years ago at an Einstein Bagels. I was currently enrolled in my last semester of college,
and my next step was to move back home to Michigan. It was months after dating Shawn that I
knew that I would never be moving back home, and that he was the one I spend forever with.
Twelve years later our next chapter began as we tied the knot. It has always been our dream to
have a family of our own. Currently, our family consists of our dog Jax and our cat Tibbers. We
have know for years that our family was not complete. After struggling for five years to conceive
on our own. It would just be a miracle and such a dream to finally add another branch to our
family. The little baby growing in your belly is already everything that we want for our family. We
know that we will not be perfect, and that we have a lot to learn, but our love will be endless along
with our support. Both Shawn and I promise to support every dream our child has, and to be
there to pick them up every time them fall. We intend to raise our child to know with a full
understanding of our path. We feel with no doubt that this is exactly where our next chapter
should begin.
Thank You,
Amanda
In the nearly two decades I have known Amanda, her life long goal has been to become a mother.
Her compassion is matched only by the size of her heart. She lights up when holding her friend’s
babies, or seeing their children’s faces when she brings them little gifts. Her compassion also shows
in her work. The company she works for helps families in difficult situations reestablish
themselves to better provide for themselves and their children. She loves cooking and has found a
new love in fitness over the last year; combining the two to help us both lead healthier lives.
Amanda can often be found in the kitchen making her latest creation. She loves to share her
cooking and baking skills with others. Her maternal instinct had the ability to grow while she was
a camp counselor for 6 years. She will be the mother to help pick her child up when down, and
not be afraid to challenge or discipline them when necessary. Your gift is what will make her heart
whole.

Shawn
Shawn is all that anyone could want in a husband, and as the father of our future child. Shawn has
had a love for music specifically drumming since a young age. He was in a band for 10 plus years,
and can still be found playing the drums on occasion. He is a season ticket holder and a huge
Florida Panthers hockey fan. Shawn and his father attend most home games. Shawn fancies
himself as a grill master - while I prefer the cooking and baking. He is an avid fitness buff and has
influenced me to work out and be mindful of how physical health influences mental health. One
of my favorite qualities about Shawn is that he has a sense of humor that can bring a smile to your
face. As with most things for Shawn, he shows passion in everything from his love of music to his
love of sports. I could go on about all the amazing qualities about Shawn, but most importantly he
truly is everything that a wife and mother could ever want. In the business world, Shawn has been
recognized as a key staff member who has been promoted from Restaurant Manager to Systems
Administrator for the company’s 28 restaurants across Florida. I know that Shawn will have that
same passion in raising our child and being the best parent he can be.

Our Families
Shawn is a native Floridian who grew up in Broward County. He has always been close with his
younger brother, and his parents. Shawn and his brother both share a love of music, and for many
years played in the same band. Amanda grew up in Michigan. She has a younger brother and sister,
and often looks to her parents for advice when needed. Amanda has a close bond with her
younger sister. They talk weekly, and she spends most of her visit with her sister and the nephews.
She moved to Florida in her twenties to attend college, and returns to Michigan twice a year to see
her family. Amanda’s four nephews are the reason we cannot wait for our next trip to Michigan.
Our nephews call Shawn “ Uncle Lego” and look forward to the special times they spend
together. We split the holidays between families. Thanksgiving is spent at our house with an
amazing meal prepared by Amanda and Shawn’s family; Christmas is spent in Michigan with snow
on the ground and with Amanda’s family. This past year, we were unable to make it to Michigan
for Christmas, however, Amanda made sure that we were there via video chat when our nephews
opened their gifts. Even though Amanda is Jewish, she celebrates the spirit of Christmas as she
has always loved what it represents — gathering with family and friends. Our family may not be
large in size yet the support we receive is bigger than the quantity. Our families will be a huge
support in the next chapter of our soon to be growing family.

Our Community
When we bought our house five years ago it was important to us to live in a community that was
family friendly. The community we selected is extremely geared towards family. They frequently
have family/community activities. It was also key that our child received the best education
possible, so we chose an area with top rated schools. Our goal when buy our home was fill it with
all the things that make a house a home, but there is one final piece of that home missing. We
would be forever grateful and thankful if your baby was that final piece.
