Sumner County Farm Est. 1921
Ash Grove Farm, Antiques and
Collect ibles to be Sold Absolute
Sumner county is rich in history and tradition.
The county is the second oldest in Middle Ten-
nessee, created by an act of the General Assem-
bly of the State of North Carolina in November
1786 and named for Revolutionary War soldier
Colonel Jethro Sumner.
It’s beautiful, rolling hills along the banks of Old
Hickory Lake is the just a couple of alluring fea-
tures this county offers. The fact that it is a very
easy drive into Nashville is the main reason Sum-
ner county and specifically it’s two largest cities,
Hendersonville and Gallatin have experienced
such tremendous growth in recent years.see “Ash Grove” pg 3

. . .”Ash Grove “Restaurants, shopping, entertainment and
more are all right here.
Yet with all the new growth going on it is
nice to know that there are some places that
you can still enjoy the sights and sounds of
nature to relax to after a hard day in the
city. You can get your chance to own a
piece of serenity on September 19th when
Gene Carman Realty and Auction, sell the
Ash Grove Farm at Absolute Auction.
In 1921, the Ash
Grove Farm
was a wedding
gift to Eugene
Branham and
his new bride.
This 90 acre
farm with a
beautiful farm
house situated
amongst a grove
of great shade
trees was the
perfect place to start a family. Since 1921,
the farm has simply passed down from one
generation to the next, and is now in the
hands of the third generation of the Bran-
hams.
City water is available to all tracts and
every tract has been soil tested for the up-
coming sale. Tracts 1 and 2 offer beautiful
mature trees and great building sites tucked
away from site of the road. Tracts 5 and 6
offer open land and great building sites and
would be perfect for a mini farm. Tract #3
features the house which is believed to
have been built in the early 1900's and was
originally a frame, farm style home. In the
1950's, Mr Branham gave his wife the gift
of adding a very large front porch and plac-
ing rock all the way around the house. The
house is still good and sturdy and features
12ft ceilings
for the main level which includes a l i v -
i n g r o o m ,
d i n i n g r o o m ,
kitchen, 3 bed-
rooms. and 2
baths. Upstairs
has three bed-
room areas
and nice large
closets for
storage space.
This tract also has a smaller home which
was used as a tenant house. Tract #4 is the
barn tract, featuring a very nice barn used
in the past for dairy purposes and is in
great condition for housing horses, cows,
or a great storage facility. Tract #7 is a lit-
tle over 18 acres and includes a large, one
acre, spring fed pond stocked and ready
for fishing. Tracts 8-10 all have a great
knoll with gorgeous views for your new
dream home. All tracts have St Blaise
Road frontage and each would make a
great place to have a family estate home,
or buy it all for future development.
Along with the property, an equally
unique collection of antiques and col-
lectibles will be offered! “The furniture
pieces in
this home
were ei-
ther origi-

by Mr
B r a n -
ham's parents, or antiques gathered over
the years,” said Auctioneer Ray Carman..
“I am sure collectors and antique buffs
will be please with the selection at this
sale,” Ray went on to say.
