Option Description
Suspend to RAMThe system writes data to memory and shuts everything down while keeping the data alive with a minimum amount of power from the battery.
Suspend to diskThe system writes data to disk and shuts off completely; no power is used, so no data can be lost.
Slow the processor
The system is on but not involved in heavy-duty calculations. The processor slows down to a point where it can still handle the user’s needs, but does not waste energy trying to process data at an unnecessarily high rate.
