An Industrial visit to Parsoli Motor Works Pvt. Ltd. BMW

An industrial visit to Parsoli Motor Works Pvt. Ltd. BMW was organized by the students’
club SAE LDCE of L. D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad. In which 17 students from the
institute and 9 core team members were present at the workshop along with three faculty
advisors, Prof M.A. Shaikh, Prof. D.J.Parmar and Prof. V.R.Patel from the institute. The visit
was coordinated by the core team member Saurabh Trivedi. Mr. Akshat Shukla, General
Manager Sales, Parsoli Motors and Mr. Mrudul Kothari, Workshop Manager, BMW
workshop helped the students to make this visit possible.
All the students and the faculties gathered at the workshop at 11 a.m. They were warmly
welcomed by the BMW representatives. Firstly a brief introduction about BMW group and the
workshop was given by Mr. Akshat Shukla and Mr. Mrudul Kothari. From that the students and
the faculties came to know what BMW group is. Safety is the main consideration of the BMW
products. After that there was a Question Answer session in which the students as well as the
Faculties asked different questions they had regarding the workshop and the products of BMW.
After that the students and the respected Faculties were taken inside the workshop guided
by the representatives accompanied by the workshop team. The workshop was neat, well
managed and disciplined. Different tasks were allotted to different members. There were separate
areas allocated for specific tasks like wheel alignment, brake test, paint job, engine testing etc.
All the tasks were done in very systematic way. The staff was very humble and helpful. When a
car comes for anything, the general inspection is done and after that it is sent to the specific area
where it is checked and serviced very nicely. After all the testing and checking the car is sent
back to the customers. Safety is very important in any big workshop like this. All the people out
there worked with all the safety equipments. The students were advised not to take picture inside
the workshop. The students were taken to each and every section of the workshop and were
shown and given brief information about every job done there.
Then the Students and the faculties were welcomed to the Showroom of BMW at
Sanand- Gandhinagar Highway. The showroom was very elegant and very impressive. As
BMW is one of the most loved brands all over the world, everyone eagerly waited to see the cars
out there. The main attraction of the Showroom was the most loved car the “BMW i8”. The
students as well as the faculties took photos there and it was a very happy moment for all of the
people present there.
After that a small Memento-frame was given to Mr. Akshat Shukla, General Manager Sales,
Parsoli Motors by SAE LDCE for making the visit possible and to create a better relation in
future.
And the visit ended with the group photo session of the students and the respected faculty
advisors present at the Parsoli Motor Works Pvt. Ltd. BMW. All the students and the faculties
were thankful to BMW to provide their valuable time to arrange the visit.

Report on Seminar on Robotics & Intelligent Systems

Edubotix Innovations conducted a successful seminar on
Robotics & Intelligent Systems on 10th September
2015.Duration for the seminar was 2 Hours.
Total 100 students from Automobile and Mechanical branch
actively participated and shown enthusiasm.
Edubotix Innovations Team conducted the seminar and Ms.
Shivani Tak gave insight about latest trends in Robotics Industry
and how it is changing the conventional method of doing a task.
Importance, applications and scope of Artificial Intelligence and
Machine Vision were discussed during the session. Some
important and successful case studies were discussed with
students and how robotics has come up with solutions to
industries such as Thermal plants and space were
discussed.Future possibilities for building career in the field of
robotics and automation were discussed.
Shivani Tak and her team thanked the Head of Automobile and
Mechanical Department, LD College of Engineering for giving
them opportunity to interact with wonderful students and
making seminar successful.

Report on Seminar on Solidworks

Solidworks Authorized Training Center in association with Edubotix
Innovations and Engineering Technique conducted a successful
seminar on SOLIDWORKS & ITS SCOPE on 9th September
2015.Duration for the seminar was 2 Hours.
Total 120 students from Automobile and Mechanical branch actively
participated and shown enthusiasm.
Solidworks-ATC (Edubotix Innovations) Team conducted the seminar
and Mr. Swapnil Jhadav and Mr. Rudresh Vyas gave Solidworks world
insight to students and its importance and scope were discussed with
students along with demonstration of software.
Objective of the seminar was to spread awareness about the latest
technology and designing trends in market and how solidworks is
used in different industries and because of its unique features how it
is the most user friendly software.
Digital Manufacturing technology and its use in market was
discussed. Brief discussion was done about how Computer aided
designing, machining and 3D printing is taking over the conventional
method of manufacturing; thus increasing the production like never
before.
Shivani Tak and her team thanked the Head Of Automobile and
Mechanical Department, LD College of Engineering for giving them
the opportunity to interact with wonderful students and making the
seminar successful.
SAE LDCE ORIENTATION 14th August, 2015 AHMEDABAD SAE LDCE ORIENTATION programme, which is organized by club members
every year for fresher students to get familiar with the club and its activities. This year also
orientation programme was organized on 14th august in room no. 605, mechanical
department.
On the day
of orientation, Students
from 1st year of automobile
and mechanical department
came at 1 pm. After they all
got their sits, Unmit Parmar,
vice president congratulated
and welcomed them by
short speech. Afterwards he
described club in brief and
all about activities and goal
and he invited Rihen Shah,
President of club, to join the
stage. He described them
about organization, club
history and told them about past activities and achievements.
Chintan Agrawal, student from 2nd year and membership chairperson of club, he described
about membership process and also included
last year competition Elite GO-Karting, in
which team asphalt aces had took part. He
told the whole journey from team registration
to the final race day. He told them about how
they struggled in last day of competition
because of lake of time.
After this short presentation Ketan Bhavsar,
student from 2nd year automobile, came and
told students about other activities and competitions of club. He included EGVC-Eco Green
Vehicle Challenge, which was organized by collegiate club itself. In which students from
undergraduate engineering course supposed to make team and make over hybrid vehicle
with human power. Afterwards he described about BAJA STUDENT INDIA and SAE BAJA,
event organized by SAE INDIA. The whole history and process was described by Ankit
Prajapati. Ketan told them about SAE SUPRA, FORMULA DESIGN CHALANGE, SAE ECCO
KART, SAE AERO DESIGN and other visits, internships organized by club.
And then turned for Kishan Thakkar, team
member of GT Motorsports, A university
team presented about his team and event.
He was told them about his journey from
GO-Kart team to the university team and
described about whole process of making
student level formula car to the students.
There was again one
presentation by Rihen Shah, and topic was
process team formation, designing of
vehicle as per requirement, department
allocation, virtual preparation and
presentation, manufacturing process and about different events on the site like technical
inspection, break test, acceleration and final endurance.
At the last Ankit Prajapati, Team captain of LDCE Motorsports, team of SAE
BAJA and BAJA STUDENT INDIA 2016 came to stage and told about what is Baja?, What they
do?, How Baja vehicle is different than other? Etc. He also told about some basic process of
event and its importance etc.
At the end of the programme Pro. M A Shaikh, Senior faculty of SAE CLUB LDCE
came to the stage and congratulated students and appreciate them to join the club and
continue the legacy. The programme was completed by thanking ceremony given by Prof.
D.U.Panchal.

S.T. WORKSHOP VISIT 10th AUGUST,2015 AHMEDABAD.
SAE LDCE organises different educational visits to different automotive organizations like ARAI,
BMW workshop visit, S.T. Workshop visit etc. This month we organized one day visit to GSRTC
Workshop, Naroda for 1st and 2nd year students under consideration club core members Kishan
Thakkar, Saurabh Jariwala, Ankit Prajapati and Chintan Agrawal.
On 10th August, Monday SAE CLUB LDCE had organized a visit to GSRTC workshop, which is situated
at Naroda. Students from 1st and 2nd year automobile and mechanical engineering department were
gathered at 10:30am. First they visited Engine shop, in which they learned about boring of cylinder,
some machining processes, engine general services, valve mechanism and timings, assembly of
different part etc. 1st year students, who were new in this field, they learned about basic engine
components and their working.
After learning about engine, they moved to Diesel injecting machine. One worker was
operating that machine who described the whole process. They learned about different type of
pumping system like centrifugal and reciprocating pumping system too.
Then students went to fabrication
shop. There were many bus roll cages which
were not in use then. On that they learned
about different part of bus chassis and
mounting of different components. At the
same place students learned about box type
steering system.
At the end of the visit, all the
students and core member SAE LDCE were
visited the Paint shop. There were bodies
ready to go to the assembly shop and many
of remaining were in the way of painting. In last they took a selfie in bus as a memorable moments.
At the end students thanked to the workshop authorities and workers for giving them
permission to visit and to help them to learning new things about present systems in automobile
world.

Workshop Preparation
20th August ,2015 Ahmedabad.
Every year students from LD College of Engineering participates in different events. This year
team of 25 students from Automobile department is participating SAE BAJA 2016 and Baja
Student India 2016. In which team have design, analysis and fabricate their off road vehicle.
For which they required a workshop and nowadays college workshop is in development
state. So students have to arrange as per their own requirement. For which college is
supporting them on every stage.
For development of their workshop students has done all the thing from
paper work to market and hard work. They took permissions from college faculties to use
college properties . College had granted permission for using Smithy Lab as workshop.
College also supported for flooring facilities in lab. Students also arranged for electrician for
workshop facilities like welding, cutting, lighting facilities and etc. College supported them
for tools and other peripherals like fans, tube lights, three phase wires etc from electric
store of college. Pro. B C Khatri Sir supported them for most of the things. After that all
students managed to clean the workshop and made it as per their requirement. It took half
month for being ready for work.
On 19th August Monday, there was opening ceremony for BAJA Student’s new
workshop. At that day Head of Mechanical department Dr. G H Uppadhyay, Head of
Automobile department Dr. R J Jani , Pro. B C Khatri and Pro. M A Sheikh was present on the
site. Uppadhyay Sir and Jani sir cut the reborn and enlighten a candle in the corner of
workshop and made the workshop open for work for students. At the end of the ceremony
Students celebrated their work by sweets.
