The body is supportive tissue of the bone tissue, which is the bone
The bones are made up of calcium and phosphorous. They also makes bones harder

The skeletal system includes all the bones, and your skeleton system haves 5 main functions:1. the skeleton gives shape and support to your body2.mayor muscles are attached to bones and help them move
![Page 4: Andrés Jiménez Camila Zambrano Laura Buendía Diana Contreras](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062422/56649f325503460f94c4f041/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
3. bones protect your internal organs 4.blood cells form in the red narrow of
many bones 5. major quantities of calcium and
phosphorous compouse are stored in the skeleton for later use
![Page 5: Andrés Jiménez Camila Zambrano Laura Buendía Diana Contreras](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062422/56649f325503460f94c4f041/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Bones have bumps ,edges, round ends, rough spots and many holes.
Bone structure consists in: Cartilage Periousteum compact Bone spongy bone. Bones have small open spaces that
make them lightweight.
![Page 6: Andrés Jiménez Camila Zambrano Laura Buendía Diana Contreras](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062422/56649f325503460f94c4f041/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
In the center of bones there are large openings called cavities, they are filled with a substance called marrow.
There are two types : 1. Yellow marrow: Contains fat cells. 2. Red marrow: Produces red blood
cells. Cartilage: Is a smooth thick ,slippery
layer or tissue.

Bones have not always been sorng as they are now. When the baby is in developing the bones where just cartilage.
![Page 8: Andrés Jiménez Camila Zambrano Laura Buendía Diana Contreras](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062422/56649f325503460f94c4f041/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Gradually the bone was breaking down, and it start forming the bone. The cells that form the bone are: osteoblasts and the cell that break is the osteoclast.
![Page 9: Andrés Jiménez Camila Zambrano Laura Buendía Diana Contreras](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062422/56649f325503460f94c4f041/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
When the bone is broke down it realises calcium and phosphorous into the blood stream.

Is the point in which two or more bones make contact.
There are two types of Joints:
•Immovable joints: which are the one that cant move or barely move such as the skull which it joins is a Fibrous.
•Movable joints: which are the ones that move such as: knees, fingers and elbow.
JOINTS
![Page 11: Andrés Jiménez Camila Zambrano Laura Buendía Diana Contreras](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062422/56649f325503460f94c4f041/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
TYPES OF JOINTS.• Fibrous: which connects bones but dont allow them to move.
• Cartilagous: this allows to move a little such as the spine.
• Synovial: this allows to move freely. Synovial fluid helps the bones to get lubricated and protect them from a hit.

Joints
inmovablemovable
Such as knees, elbow, fingers, etc.
The only ones are the skull and the pelvis.

Hinge
A hinge point allows extention and retraction.
Sadle
Allows the movement of back and forth, up and down.
Ball and Socket
Allows radial movement in allmost all ways.
![Page 14: Andrés Jiménez Camila Zambrano Laura Buendía Diana Contreras](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062422/56649f325503460f94c4f041/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Gliding
Allows the movement side to side.
Pivot
Allows rotation arrown axis.
Ellipsoid
They are similar to ball and socket but less movement.

PROBLEMS • Arthritis, Osteosarcoma, bone tumor, osteoporosis.
• The problems are that the bones start getting weak, have malformation, causing sickness and hurt.
