What is bullying?
WESTFIELD ACADEMY SLT ASSEMBLY
Bullying can take many forms including:
• Physical assault
•Teasing
• Making threats
• Name calling
• Cyber bullying
Sometimes these things can happen as a one of – this may not be considered bullying.
If they happened more than once over a period of time – that would be bullying

SEE IT
- Don’t be a bystander – if you see something you don’t like –find a member of staff
- Help the person you think might be being bullied – ask them if they are ok
- If you see something online you don’t like – save the message and then block the person – report to parent, teacher or website/app
- Name calling, physical assault, threats and discrimination is not acceptable

WESTFIELD ACADEMY SLT ASSEMBLY
- Talk to a trusted adult – parent/teacher/form tutor
- “Snitch” – we won’t tolerate people feeling scared to talk –what if it was you that needed help?
- Use the school concerns report systems
- Our school ethos is around respecting each other and feeling
comfortable is saying “that is not ok”
SAY IT
BELIEVE – STRIVE – ACHIEVEBELIEVE - STRIVE - ACHIEVE
WESTFIELD ACADEMY SLT ASSEMBLY
- If you don’t tell an adult – we can’t stop it. Telling an adult will be
the first step in you stopping it
- Don’t try to stop this yourself by getting
involved/messaging/confronting the bully – it could make the
situation worse
- By wanting to stop it, you are standing up for what is right
- By standing up for what is right – you will make a difference
STOP IT
