Apple cake
Ingredients
A roll of pastry to make the base of the cake
1 or 2 apples as you think best
If you want to
savour the taste
of the apple you
have to take two
apples. If,
however, you
prefer to hide the
taste of the apple
it will be enough
taking only an
apple.
Peach or strawberry jam
Between one to three packets of sugar (more or less 16 grams) as you think best
Butter because of spreading it on the base of the cake
Procedure
First you have to take the
base that you have prepared
and then you have to spread
it across the tray. But pay
attention, because it’s
necessary to put waxed
paper between the tray and
the base of the cake. Maybe
you won’t have to buy the
waxed paper because it can
be included in the same
packet of the roll pastry.
That will allow you to work
better and the base won’t
get stuck on the tray. If you
don’t want to buy waxed
paper and the roll of pastry
doesn’t include it, you can
previously spread the tray
with butter.
To preparate the base
The second part consists of
peeling the apple and cutting
it in form of slices. The slices
don’t have to be neither thin
nor thick. You have to spread
some butter on the base of
the cake and, when the base
is greased with butter, you
will be able to put the slices
on the base. You can place
the slices like you want, but
it’s recommended to
distribute them uniformly.
A little piece of advice: It’s
better to prick the roll of
pastry with a fork before
putting the slices of apple on
the base of the cake.
To add the slices of apple
When the slices of
apple are placed on
the base, you can
sprinkle sugar on the
base. The amount of
sugar depends on your
criteria.
To add the sugar
Now it’s time to put the
cake in the oven.
Previously, you have to
heat the oven and earn a
temperature of 200ºC /
220º C.
After introducing the
cake in the oven, you
have to wait about fifteen
minutes keeping the
temperature of the oven.
Pay attention, you have
to check the cake. The
cake hasn’t to cook too
fast. When the cake is
cooked, you can remove
the cake from the oven.
To cook the cake
Adding jam to the cake
provides the cake a
good taste. It’s
recommended to add
the jam because the
taste goes better. The
taste of the jam is on
your choice. Normally,
the jam is made with
peach or strawberry,
but you can add the
type of jam that you
want. Making more
apple cakes will allow
you to compare the
taste and to do your
own choice of the jam.
To add jam
Another time, you have
to introduce the cake
in the oven. Keeping
the same temperature,
this time you will only
have to wait 5 minutes
(the time needed to
end the procedure of
cooking the cake).
To cook the cake a second time
When the cake is
cooled you can begin
to eat it.
