Brothers and Sisters:
First of all, I would like to thank all of our
Auxiliary Officer’s and our Auxiliary team for
attending and helping out in the kitchen
during our State Visitation on Saturday March
14th with the help of Jimmy LaRocca too.
Food was Great and the servers did a
fabulous job! Worthy President Pete and I
chose Terry and Pam Osborn for our Mr. &
Mrs. Eagle award for this year. I was sad to
see that only the Worthy Chaplin John Logan
and Worthy Conductor Michael Wadding
were there to support the Aerie Officer’s.
On another note, I would also like to thank
John Hall and his team for the Heart Fund
that raised over $4,000.00. Great job!!
Don & Cindy Magee will be our host for
Jimmy Durante Fund in April, and they have
a lot of fun things planned. Come and check
it out! Also, April 18th Terry and Jenny will be
renting the hall and having a benefit helping
out our very own Mr. and Mrs. Eagle (Terry &
Pam Osborn) with all their medical bills that
Madam President continued:
have occurred. They will be having food,
50/50’s, shots, raffle and auction items too.
This will be starting at 3 pm. Raffle and
Auction items needed.
By for now and Happy Easter to All.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
For APRIL 2020 Our April Volunteer is Richard (Dickie) Mills.
He has helped with both the Aerie’s and
Auxiliary food functions when asked. He
helped set up the social room for State
Visitation, burger night, taco Tuesdays and
Thursday Charity dinners. He is on the Golf
Tournament charity. Thank you, Dickie for
everything you do and your volunteer spirit
for the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3871.
Side note on Volunteer of the Month:
Please respect the person selected as
Volunteer of the Month and leave their
parking space OPEN. They are chosen for
all they do for this club and just because it
may be empty when you come in, they may
be right behind you continuing their hard work
for the club. Please respect them by keeping
it open for them. They earned it! Vehicles will
be towed at the owner’s expense.
AERIE TRUSTEE’S SUGGESTION BOX
The Trustees don’t mind helping when it
comes to getting suggestions in the
Suggestion Box, located in the rear hallway,
next to the Trustee’s Office. OH, please
sign your complaint, situation, incident or
suggestion if you wish to hear a response to
it. We have received several suggestions
and good ones too and we can’t respond to
them because they were not signed.
Thank You.
Touch of Humor
Thelma had just started down the sidewalk
when her friend Janet came around the
corner and barreled into her at high speed.
“Slow down, Janet! What’s your hurry?”
“Well,” puffed Janet, “I read that bee stings
can help ease arthritis, so I went out and
threw a rock at a big hive in a tree. And then
they all started chasing me.”
“Must have worked,” said Thelma. “I haven’t
seen you move that quickly since 1974!”

A Touch of Life
One Sunday morning, a man was pulled over
by a motorcycle cop for speeding. As the
officer asked the driver for his license and
registration, passing motorists would slow
down, then honk and wave.
After about the twelfth driver passed by,
honking and waving, the officer asked the
speeder what was going on. The driver told
him, “I am the minister at the church a mile
down the road. That’s where I was going
when you stopped me. The members of my
congregation recognized me.” The officer
smiled and tore up the ticket. “I think you’ve
paid your debt to society,” he proclaimed.

Hello all and welcome to April! Where does
the time go actually? At this rate next week
it’ll be Christmas already but here we are. I
know it’s been awhile since I have wanted to
put something, anything into the news but I
have to ask, once again, why doesn’t anyone
utilize our Web Site?
Statistically, these pages are viewed by
between 250 and 400 people monthly on a
regular basis! Want to know what has been
updated and added weekly? My consistent
updates of the King of Hearts Game.
How is that, in almost 10 years since these
web pages themselves were uploaded that
no one is taking advantage of this FREE
advertising to inform others of our upcoming
events we have on a monthly schedule? Isn’t
this why we have planning meetings for
charities and events?
Contributing is quite easy as well. Send to me
your fliers, event details and any information
you’d like to have added to me either by
emails to [email protected] or you could leave
your information for me right here at the club
and I’ll pick it up. Once received, your
information will be posted on our “Events”
pages with links directly on the “Home” page
for inquiring minds and the world to see!
When writing to me or leaving packages
please include your contact information,
(Name, Telephone Number and Email
Address) so that if I have any questions, we
can complete the process together. For right
now I am limiting this type of “advertising” to
us here at 3871 only. This may change over
time where a nominal fee may be charged to
other groups for inclusion on our pages and
all monies received will be contributed to
whatever our “Charity of the Month” will be at
the time.
Again, this in the early stages and more
information will become available on how to
advertise with us as I develop these types of
pages including a “Buy Advertising Now” and
the “Donate to Charity Now” buttons.
As always, I’m looking to help you in any way
that I possibly can. This here is a great start
when YOU alert people and OUR members
of exactly what’s coming up and what’s going
on here at F.O.E. #3871. Looking forward to
hearing from you. Have a great month!

Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund April is Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund
month. Jimmy Durante has two types of
fundraising, one for Abused Children and the
other Physical and Mentally Challenged
Children. Co-chair person’s for this month
will be Auxiliary members and Aerie member
Don McGee. They have all kinds of events
planned for the month of April. Don is
planning on weekly meal specials, so check
the monitor and newsletter for days and
times. On April 4th, You don’t want to miss
this one, the Jimmy Durante Musical Festival.
Starts at 11am until end. There will be live
music, food, drinks, much, much more. On
April 25th, there will be Dinner from 5-7pm.
Right now, we are planning a meatloaf
dinner. Live music from the Visitors. It’s like
an old saying. $1 donated towards the
Jimmy Durante Fund can save a child’s Life.
See you all in April.

This is my Club (and your Club too!). Why do I do what I do?
Because this IS our Club! Does it need to be done? STEP UP!
Do Not complain unless you VOLUNTEER. Do you see something
that needs to be DONE STEP UP! An hour here and there makes
all the difference, DO IT? Ask a few members, make it a group,
a party. Join a COMMETTEE, make a suggestion, follow it through.
Wash a wall, paint a wall, join the kitchen staff. WE ALL need to
help keep OUR CLUB IN ORDER!
