A Taste and See - Dinner and Introduction to the
Alpha Course: Saturday evening, January 4 at the
Trinity Community Center 6:30 p.m. Register at

The Alpha Course: Alpha is an introduction to Jesus
Christ and the Christian faith. Invite your
un-churched family members, friends,
and co-workers to attend the Alpha
Course together with you. Alpha is built
around a meal together, a large group
teaching session, and small group
discussion of the all-important questions
concerning Jesus and the Christian faith: Who is
Jesus? What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?

Adult Bible Study Ministry

At Trinity, we believe the best way to learn more
about our God is to discover Him through His Word.
It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs
and living.
We offer a variety of opportunities to be into God’s
Word and to fellowship with others on the journey of
faith. We offer different studies available every day of
the week at our church campus taught by Trinity staff
and also in homes led by members.

Bible Study Basics: This new seminar is
designed to teach people how the Bible
came to be, and how to study it for life
application and transformation.
Bible Study groups meet together regularly
to journey together through the scriptures and
encourage one another in faith.

11:00 Kidz Church: A Sunday program for children
ages 4-9. Begin worship as a family, then during
the service, Pastor will excuse children to
professional teachers.
The “Lords Prayer” Faith Milestone: Parents of four
year-olds will learn how to pray with and teach their
children how to pray at our informational
session. Later we will celebrate this milestone in your
children’s lives A special prayer pillow will be given
to each child to commemorate this special time of
their life. Two-year olds will receive a Toddler Bible
Sat., Feb 18 at 5p.m. or Sun., Feb. 19 at 11 a.m.
Elementary School Ministry

Trinity’s ESM serves in an advisory capacity to the
school principal and offers many opportunities for
service; hands-on or strategy building. Various
volunteer roles provide avenues for Christ’s redeemed
to witness, model, teach, worship, enjoy fellowship,
help us to be good stewards of school resources,
provide valued service, oversee ministry, and enlist the
support of others.
Trinity, The Modern Christian School: Lay volunteers
serve as classroom aides, office helpers, lunchroom
monitors, and help with specific events such as plays,
special services, and concerts.
School Improvement Committee (Sub-committee of
ESM): Participants work closely with the school
principal, share expertise, study systems, review
curriculum, provide training, plan strategically,
celebrate successes, and assist with implementation.
Classroom Volunteers: This wonderful service
opportunity contributes greatly to the outstanding
education Trinity is able to offer our students.
Volunteers may witness their calling by working with
a single student, helping a teacher to develop
instructional materials, or a variety of capacities
whereby volunteer skill and passion are matched to
school needs.
8TH Annual Dinner Auction March 15, 2014 - Itasca
Country Club: Many committed volunteers work
together under lay leadership to plan this major
annual event. Everyone 21 and over is encouraged
to attend and support our incredible school ministry.
Significant resources are generated as a result of the
work of the planning committee, volunteer gift
donors, sponsors, set-up and decorating team,
publicity committee, participants in the event.
Trinity School provides many extra-curricular
opportunities for students and produces significant
events for school, church, and community.

This ministry provides life stage specific ministry
activities, services, and ongoing educational
opportunities for those over the age of 55 and for family
members who are caring for their senior loved ones.
JOY Group: This group is an ongoing monthly
fellowship gathering. Meetings are on the 4th Monday
of the month – AM and PM gatherings and other
scheduled special events at other times. Open to all
over the age of 50.
Continental Breakfast and Seminar Real Money Talk
for Women: We offer a financial planning seminar
sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans
focusing on the unique financial needs of women.
For both pre-retirement and retirement aged
women. January 18, 2014 at 8:30 a.m.
Heart-to-Heart Seminar: This seminar is designed to
begin a dialogue between seniors and their children
or other care givers concerning the wishes and
desires of the senior family members for their own
care during their later years. February 15, 2014.
A Celebration of the Generations: We provide a
special weekend worship focus and a variety of
intergenerational activities designed to bring the six
generations of our Trinity family together in service
to the Lord and to one another. April 26-28, 2014.
The Trinity Adult Resource Center (ARC): Browse

our drop-in information center located in Trinity’s
Rm. 102 designed to help seniors and their family
members locate resources in our community for the
enhancement of life during the senior years.

Experience: The Sunday
Night Experience meets

theme (dating, friendships, stress, school, etc.) and
use scripture to discuss how we can apply it to our
lives. We do this through music, drama, dance,

early at 5:00 and have dinner with us and play
video games in our new lounge or basketball in
the gym.
Youth Gathering: The second annual Northern
Illinois District Wide High School Gathering will be
on Friday April 25, 2014 at 7 p.m. and Saturday,
April 26, 2014 from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. Tickets are
$40. The weekend is entitled Collision—
Encounters with the Savior.

LIFE Groups: At Trinity, we believe that life is meant
to be shared - we belong in
community. Jesus Himself had a small
group fellowship of twelve men. We,
as Christ followers, are not meant to
live in isolation from others but rather
are to be involved in fellowship.
We have different Life Groups meeting on every day
of the week. We have LIFE Groups just for men, just
for women, and just for couples. Through these
groups, a wide variety of subjects are discussed
including Bible studies, topical studies, studies of
special interest, and studies relating to the sermon
preached each week at Trinity.
There are opportunities to join a group, to lead a
group, and to assist with the needs of the ministry
(recruiting, training, curriculum development, and
administrative support).

Unity in Marriage: Discover how to build a marriage
that experiences and expresses the love of God. The
next Unity in Marriage Retreat is Friday March 14 -

Renew, Refresh,, Refocus Retreat: Our next formal
retreat is planned for May 31 at Trinity.
Financial Peace University: Discover how God’s
wisdom can lead to financial peace in your life.
Online Training: In order to accommodate
challenging schedules it is always possible to take
many of our courses or seminars online and meet
with a mentor to process the material.

Stephen Ministry Team: Stephen ministers have
received over 50 hours of training to provide
personal care and a listening ear to those going
through various life challenges. Meetings are held on
the 2nd
& 4th Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m.
Training for prospective Stephen Ministry Care Givers
and those wanting to receive excellent training in
caring for others will begin on January 28 at 7 p.m.
Congregational Care Team: As individuals express
needs, individuals in this lay-driven team send notes
of encouragement, make friendly phone calls, and
visit hospitals and rehab facilities expressing the love
of Christ and praying with and for them.
Support Groups: Support Groups of various kinds
meet at Trinity. Grief Group meets monthly at Trinity
on Sundays at 7 p.m. in the Activity Room led by
Pastor Doug Warmann. Caregivers Support Group
meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at
7 p.m. at the Trinity Care Center.

Caring Service Ministry

Alcoholics’ Anonymous: We coordinate meeting
rooms and times for this helpful 12 step group who
helps others stop drinking one day at a time.
Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. www.aa.org.
Be the Blessing – Spring Fest: We go out into our
community and do acts of service/kindness to
people. Activities include picking up trash, spreading
mulch at Roselle buildings & schools, cleaning up
teacher's lounge at LPHS, etc. This will be a mini
mission trip outside of Trinity.
Care Note Booklets: We provide booklets on a
variety of life issue topics, such as depression,
Alzheimer’s, drinking, doubts, etc. People can take
these booklets anonymously.
Clinic: This is a free
clinic for area residents
who are in need. It is an
outreach event to
support the community
by striving to meet
human needs in Christ’s
name. Professionals are on hand to provide free
medical, dental, vision and chiropractic screening,
food, clothing, hair cuts, entertainment, family
photos, prayer and companionship. We hold this
in November.
Collection Closet: We coordinate donations for
Trinity ministries requesting collections and distribute
donations to those ministries.
Comfort Dog: Zippy is our "bridge"
to the people of our congregation
and community to share the love of
Christ. Zippy attends two public
schools consistently, nursing homes,
Trinity’s day school, and other
places as needed.
Deaf Interpretation: We provide a deaf interpreter
for church services when needed.
Drivers: Drivers are available for members in need of
rides to church or medical appointments.
Financial Assistance: We provide financial assistance
(rent, utilities, etc.) to Trinity members and people
in our community through the Bloomingdale
Township office.
Financial Counsel: Financial counseling is available
to members requesting financial assistance from the
Caring Service Ministry. We give partial scholarships
for Financial Peace University.
The Giving Tree: Members have the opportunity to
support other members in need at Christmas through
purchasing Christmas presents.
Habitat for Humanity: We get members connected
to building homes for families in need. Each
Wednesday a group serves for the day in a far
northwest suburb.
Heart-warmers: This group produces DVDs that
contain songs and lyrics to area nursing homes and
senior centers.
Home Repair: There are 3-4 people we call as
needed who help with different projects.
Job Board & Email Distribution List: We post and
email any job related topics or leads to our Seeking
Employment members.
Overeaters’ Anonymous: We coordinate meeting
rooms and times for this helpful 12-step group who
helps others stop eating compulsively one day at a
time.
Piece-Makers Quilting Group: Our quilters hand
make quilts and fleece blankets for the families in
need who attend our Clinic in the fall.

community. They perform follow-ups with members
who exhibit changes in worship attendance to offer
assistance if needed.

Sanctity of Human Life Weekend: We support
organizations that care for human life in all stages &
inform our congregation of those organizations.
SonShine Group: A Sunday school & church group

Empowered Servanthood Ministry

Offering regular assessment of people’s calling and
placement in various ministry teams along with
Empowered Servanthood mentoring and coaching.
Includes the Annual Ministry Fair, Gathering Ministry
team leaders together for coordination, training and

Missions Ministry

St. Matthews Soup Kitchen: Upcoming volunteer
dates are Jan. 16, Feb. 18 and Mar. 20. There are 2
groups for each date. The earlier group gets to St.
Matthews at 9 a.m. and will be kitchen staff. The
second group arrives at 11 a.m. and prepares the
dining room for serving.

Financial Stewardship Ministry

The mission of the Financial Advisory Council is to
provide financial expertise to Trinity Lutheran Church
& School through the following processes:
1. Participate in the development and review of the
annual church and school budget process.
2. Monthly review of the financial statements
produced by Trinity staff to insure compliancy
with GAAP pronouncements, internal controls and
measurement against budget expectations.
3. Annual audits conducted by an independent
auditing firm.
4. Future period modeling for both the church &
school to assist in determine future giving, tuition
and other needs patterns and expected results.

Small Group Leaders Ministry

We meet regularly for training, coordination, prayer
and celebration of what God is doing to build
healthy disciples in our faith family. All our leaders
go through our C.O.R.E. small Group L.E.A.D.E.R.
training.

Course, Body Life Advanced concepts and in their

Omega Course Training and Mentoring Ministry

We are meeting with aspiring leaders to train them
deeper as disciples and disciple-makers using the
Omega Course and the Omega Mentor training
seminar.

Technical Arts Ministry

The Technical Arts Ministry provides sound and visual
tech support for worship, and creates original videos for
Trinity 411 messages, worship use, outreach, publicity,
education and other uses. Technical Arts also provides
tech support for plays, concerts, and other Trinity events.
Volunteers need to be high school age or older.
Church Sound Mixer: Our team mixes live sound for
worship in the church sanctuary.
Projectionist: Our volunteers run PowerPoint and
411 videos for all services.
Sunday Camera Crew: Every week one of our
camera crews streams a worship service live on the
internet and records it for future use on Comcast
Public Access channel. Crews consist of camera
operators, director, tech director, and sound mixer
for audio.
TV Production: Our crew provides production of
Trinity 411 messages and other videos as needed.
Lighting: Our crew works on design, set-up, and
operates lights for plays, video productions and
concerts.
Graphic Artist: Our artists create visuals for use in
videos or PowerPoint shows. Volunteers may use
computers and equipment in the Trinity TV studio,
or may work at home.
