TERRY KOLE "It's wonderful to create art that smiles back at you!"
"When I work with an author, I do my best to get inside their head, to see their ision. I realize it is their story to tell, I am their hands to illus-trate that story. It's my job to learn who the characters are and to spend time in my imagination living in that world to bring it all to life in a book."
Terry Kole has had a long and varied career as a commercial artist both here in the States and in Europe. She had a cartoon strip, was a daily news illustrator for the Detroit News, illustrated theology books in Belgium and created news graphics for the Associated Press while in NYC, Paris and Amsterdam. In 2009 she returned to the States and found her niche teaching art to teens and preteens at the Plymouth Center for the Arts where she still teaches today. She illustrated her first children's book in 2011 and has enjoyed a steady flow of helping authors bring their stories to life ever since.
The ALEX series of books are also available at Windemere Gift & Book Shoppe on Court St. in Plymouth. And, stay tuned...."The Tales of ALEX the Cape Cod Ant: The First Day of School" by WM Burnett is on the drawing board!
