Task 1. “Our Cultural Diversity has shaped our national character.” India is a multicultural society where several
cultures exist in harmony. Let us celebrate the diversity and know our cultures well.
Stick pictures and write a short description about any 5 states of India:
1) The costumes worn by the people of any 5 states of India.
2) List the fabrics used in the making of those costumes.

Task 2: Stick pictures and write about any one of your favourite holiday destination in India. Hints: places visited,
means of transport, scenic beauty, weather, food, shopping, other attractions, importance of the place etc.
Task 3: Make a list all the States and Union Territories in our Incredible country- INDIA.
Activity 1:
Make five cards of the size 10 cm by 10 cm using coloured A4 sheets. Select any 5 famous monuments from different States of India. Find out the year in which they were built. Write the year in number
names. Paste or draw the picture of these monuments and give a numerical fact about it. Mention the
digit in its hundreds place. .Examples are given below for your reference.

Number name: One thousand six hundred and thirty two. Hundreds place = 6 Numeric fact :-

Number name – One thousand nine
hundred and twenty four.
Hundreds place = 9
Numerical Fact:
The central dome of gateway of India in Mumbai is 48 feet in diameter and 83 feet high at the highest point.
Activity 2:
Collect the data from the internet – the distance of five states namely New Delhi, Kerala, J&K, Gujarat and Assam in
kilometres by road .Write the distances
a) in ascending order
b) in the expanded form .

Distance from New Delhi to Maharsashtra, UP and Gujarat . The road distance between New Delhi and UP is 554 km. The road distance between New Delhi and Maharashtra is 1369 km. The road distance between New Delhi and Gujarat is 906 km. a) Ascending order of distances 554, 906, 1369 b) Expanded form :- 554 = 500 + 50 + 4 906 = 900+ 6 1369 = 1000 + 300 + 60 + 9
