JAMMU, June 28: Blamingthe PDP-BJP coalition of deliber-ate confusion over the GST in theState, PCC has accused the twocoalition partners of playing afixed match over the issue, just toput blame on the opposition.

A meeting of the PCC execu-tive was held here today under thechairmanship of PCC chief GAMir which was attended by allsenior functionaries and leaders ofthe party. The meeting deliberatedupon the current State of affairs inthe State especially the deteriorat-ed security scenario in the Valleyand expressed grave concern overthe overall situation.

The series of attack on theforce and gruesome incidents oftargeting of local police officialsand security forces reflect the utterfailure of the State and CentreGovernment to handle the situa-tion which is worsening day byday and taking new dimensions of

great security concern in the wakeof Amarnathji Yatra, which tookoff today. The party asked theCentre and State Govt to ensurefool proof security for smooth andpeaceful conduct of the Yatra.

The meeting also lambastedthe State Govt for the deliberateconfusion over the issue of GST aspart of their match fixing exercise. The PDP and BJP are in a coalitionfor the sake of sharing power inthe State, as such the exchange ofletters or hollow statements aremere eye wash to hoodwink thepeople. The responsibility lies onthe Coalition Govt to implementthe GST as per the modes provid-ed in the constitution in tune withArticle 370, for which the StateGovt is fully qualified and hadample powers but it wanted to runwith the hare and hunt with thehound, to unnecessarily blame theopposition, for the delay anduncertainty, for which coalition isto be squarely responsible.

It said the coalition partners

are committed to safeguard thespecial status as per their ownagenda of alliance and it was theduty of the Govt to take steps toensure the timely implementationof GST, if they were sincere. TheGovernment itself aborted the spe-cial session and converted it intoobituary session only, even aftercommenting to provide draft pro-posal of the Government on June13 all party meet, while it circu-lated false propaganda in themedia against opposition.

As for as Congress is con-cerned it has never been againstthe GST which is its brain childbut it is the Government whichhad to adopt the proper mode andmanner of implementation of thesame. It is the Govt which is to beblamed for the current chaos, con-fusion and uncertainty over theissue as it failed to take timelysteps in the direction of evolvingconsensus to get it through in thespecial session convened for thepurpose, the PCC leaders said.
