Reasonable expectations :
Make sure that the expectations for your learners are
reasonable.
Wait time :
Is the amount of time that the teacher waits for a learner to
respond to a question.
Transitioning into English :
Instructions to learners :
Tests should assess specific aspects of language use and not
if children can understand the instructions and format of the
test.
Talking to Strangers :

• There are two main components of listening assessment in the young learner classroom. The first is the assessment of phonemic awareness the ability to distinguish between different sounds.
• You can assess learners’ listening comprehension of directions by observing them as you give Total Physical Response ( TPR) instructions.
