New York Red Bulls II:
* The Riverhounds (1-4-3) take on New York Red Bulls II (5-1-3) for the second time this season. Last match saw New York win 3-1 in Pittsburgh, raining down 24 shots attempted for 12 shots on goal on Hunter Gilstrap and company – both season highs for a Hounds opponent.
* Pittsburgh is coming off its first win of the season, a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC II. The Hounds notched both their goals in the second half thanks to Lebo Moloto and Corey Hertzog. The offensive output marked the first time since April 27 against Louisville City FC the team had scored multiple tallies in a game.
* Head coach Dave Brandt makes his debut for the Hounds after spending the past seven seasons with the U.S. Naval Academy. His coaching pedigree is loaded, as across his 19 seasons as head coach at the collegiate level, Brandt was the winningest active coach in Division I (310-72-34) and fastest to the 200-win mark at any NCAA level.
* Along with notching his first goal of the season, Moloto was a force all night against Toronto FC II, leading the team in shots with four. Hertzog also saw his high number of chances on the season finally convert for his second goal of the year – he enters Saturday’s match leading the Hounds in shots (16) and shots on goal (9).
