HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ON PIG JAWS“An essential interdependent relationship between hard and soft tissue”
In today’s dentistry implants are becoming more of a prerequisite for a satisfactory perio-prosthetic rehabilitation outcome. To achieve a reliable and stable esthetic result, implant placement in many cases does require hard and/or soft tissue augmentation.
“Autogenous bone is declared to be the “gold standard”. However, experimental and clinical studies demonstrated that heterologous materials, such as Bio-Oss can successfully be used alone or in a mixture with autogenous bone. To achieve a stable and perfect regenerated augmentation “guided bone regeneration” procedure should be used. The barrier membrane Bio-Gide should be used to separate hard and soft tissues.
Over the last 18 years we have been using the different biomaterials from Geistlich in different indications. This resulted in an increased success rate
and patient satisfaction and the stabilisation of the perio-implant-prosthetic rehabilitations.”
Dr. Karl-Ludwig Ackermann
