Attendance –Policy 9010
• Unlawfully missing 5% of a course may result in a denial of credit for that course (9 absences).
• Being more than 20 minutes late to a class will result in an absence for that class.
• Being more than 90 minutes late to school will result in 1/2 day absence.
• Bring your note on the day of your return.

• The program is designed to allow students and staff members to use their personal devices for Howard High School designed activities and connect to the Internet for instructional activities designed by the teacher.

• Know what your student is wearing to school
• We will call home to have you bring a change of clothes for your son/daughter
• Appropriate dress has been reviewed at through administrative visits to all classrooms.

Student Behaviors at School Sponsored Events
•Dances: Howard High School does have a dance policy-if a student continues to disregard policy the student will be asked to leave the dance.
•Athletic Events: HCPSS does not allow students to stand in the bleachers during athletic events-noise makers are prohibited.
•Unsportsmanlike Conduct: We expect all of our fans to display appropriate and respectful behavior at all times.
•REMINDER: No outside food or drink purchases are permitted in the stadium or gym.

• Cyber-bullying- Using the internet, cell phones and other technological devices.
• Discussions of illegal substances or contraband could lead to conversations and searches by administrators.
Internet Precautions
• Know what your child is doing on the internet
• Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Kik… are popular sharing networks
• Once a picture or video is posted online, it is there forever.
• Look for signs of cyber bullying and/or illegal activities
