Welcome Back to School!
Ms. Shareka Hargrave 8th Grade Science
My Philosophy of Education
Everyone can learn and will learn through rigor, hard work, and dedication.
Attendance Policy It is imperative that each student is
on time for class and present. Once the tardy bell rings, you will be
considered tardy. Once you get three tar dies, it will be equivalent to 1 absence.
My Grading Scale
Rubric Grades “3” = 100
“2” = 83 “1” = “ Not Yet If you have earned the grade of 84 or higher a “3” ( 100) will be recorded in the
grade book. If you have earned the grade of a C to low B, A “2” (83) will be recorded in the
grade book. If you have failed the assignment, you will be re taught that standard.
HOMEWORK Every night you will have
homework. All lecture notes are study notes for
pop quizzes. Any work you did not finish in class will be homework.
Redo Policy
Students will need to fill out the redo form in order to retake an assessment.
Students will only be allowed to retake assessments only.
Dress Code
Dress Code will be strictly enforced. All students must wear the proper
school uniforms according to the school’s handbook.

I AM… I am...Shareka Hargrave an 8th Grade Science teacher. I do not have any
children and I am not married. I wonder... will it be hard to teach Science with it being a state tested area. I hear...that Science is an excellent and exciting subject to teach to high
school students. I see...myself being a caring, passionate, and motivating teacher. I want...to reach all my students and make sure they all receive every
resource they can to help them succeed in their endeavors. I am... ready to make a difference in education and set high oriented goals
and accomplish them with the help of my creator, my students, and my family.
I AM… I pretend...to not let things worry me when I'm under pressure. I feel...that I can conquer all obstacles that come in my life. I touch...children lives everyday I arrive at work as a teacher assistant. I worry...about my mother who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. I cry...when things bother me and I'm upset about something. I am... a strong individual with big dreams.
I AM… I understand... everything will not be easy or given but must be earned. I say...live by God's word and continue to pray. I dream...to inspire my students to be great leaders and listeners.
Let’s work together to have a great school year!
