For Our Guests
Becoming a Christian...We believe that it is by grace that we are saved
through our response of faith, believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died to take the penalty of our sins on Himself, and that He was raised from the dead on the third day by the power of God. God calls people to believe in Jesus as their Savior, repent of sin in their life, make a confession of faith that Jesus is Lord and be joined to Christ and added to His church by being immersed (baptized) in His name. Having made this response of faith to God, all sin is forgiven and we receive the gift of God's Holy Spirit to live in us and to empower us to live for Jesus. All those who come to faith in Him may request immersion at any time.
Becoming a Member at Westside...All believers, who by faith in Jesus
have been baptized through immersion for forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit, may place their membership at Westside. You may express your desire to one of our elders or ministers, or mark the appropriate space on our visitor card. Members here are under the spiritual care of our shepherds and committed to service and full participation with the family of God at this congregation.
Responding...You may request immersion (baptism), re-commit your life, or
seek prayers on your behalf by going forward during the time of response or by contacting an elder, a minister, or any member of this congregation at any time.
Communion...Communion at Westside is open to all believers who have
gathered with us to honor Jesus.

We will be having a congregational meeting on May 1 to discuss future staff plans here at Westside. With the transition of Trey and Matt, the elders feel a great need to involve the congregation in giving your input regarding the needs of the congregation moving forward. This is a grand opportunity for us as a congregation to put our hearts and heads together as we pray into the future of Westside and dream about what God has in store for us. We hope you will be a part of the discussion on May 1, which will happen during the Bible class hour. If you cannot make it to that meeting (kids teachers and nursery workers, for example) we will have an additional time to gather feedback and communicate with you from the eldership.
GriefShare will begin again on Sunday, May 15 (DATE CHANGE), from 10:30-12:00pm. in Room 520. Facilitated by Richard Temple, GriefShare is a 13-week combined class and support group for those who have lost loved ones. The meetings consist of a DVD and time of discussion, during which valuable tools and support are provided for those walking through the process of grief. Many people have found GriefShare to be a helpful way to begin putting their lives back together after the loss of a loved one. This class is open to Westside members and individuals from the community as well. If you are interested in attending, please sign up at the Guest Services Counter, speak to Richard Temple, or call the church office (831-4460).

Salt & Light April Service Project
Relay for Life - April 23-24
Relay For Life is a community event to raise money in the fight against cancer. Relay is a story of hope, honoring cancer survivors and uniting people in over 4,600 communities across the country in our battle against this terrible disease. Participants camp out overnight to enjoy music, entertainment, and walk the track in support of their friends and loved ones. It’s a truly amazing event.
Westside Fit Families has a team participating in this year’s event, and we are asking for your support. A team member will be on the track for the entire 24 hours of the relay, and we are asking for your help. Please consider making a donation to the Westside team and help us in the fight against cancer. If you would like to make a donation, just come by the Salt and Light booth at church, or call Richard Fabrie at (661)342-8881. Thank you in advance for care and support.
