Communicationsuccessfullyorganizedtheannualtwodaytechnicalfestival,BVESTinOctober2016whichsaw
notonlythespiritedstudentsbutalsothefacultymembersparticipatinginamyriadofactivities.
Apart from the technical fest, BVCOE also witnessed various faculty development programs on topics like
Enterprise Application Development Program using Rational Tools, Data Science and Machine Learning,
EmbeddedSoftwareEngineerJobRole.ThecollegealsowitnessedtheriseofTEDxBVCOE.

astoundinggatheringgivencredencebythegraciouspresenceofeminentpersonalitiesfromdifferentparts
ofthecountry,theconferencestrucktheprecisenoteonallfronts.
Thethemeoftheconferencewasrenewableenergy.TheconferencewassponsoredbytheMinistryofNew
andRenewableEnergy(MNRE)Delhi.Thechiefguest,Dr.P.C.Pant,commendedthefacultyaswellasthe
studentsfortheirdistinctivequesttokeepuptodatewiththecuttingedgetechnology.Hedeliveredthe
keynoteaddressonthethemeofrenewables.
AmongtheprominentspeakerswasDr.SanjayAgrawalfromIGNOUDelhi.Hedeliveredtheplenarytalkon
thetopic,“HybridPhoto-VoltaicThermalSystem”.Thehighlightofdaywastheexpertlecturesdeliveredby
Prof.AnwarS.SiddiquifromJMIDelhiandDr.MukhtiarSinghfromDTUDelhi.Theyspokeatlengthon
“IntelligenceTechniquesinRESbasedPowerSystems”and“DesignofWindEnergyTurbines”respectively.
Mr.NaquiAnwarfromTERIUniversity,deliveredatalkon“IntegrationofEnergysystemswithGrid”during
theconcludingpartoftheseminar.REPSI2016organizersreceivednumerouspapersfromdifferentpartsof
thecountry.Afterrevieweracceptance,totalfourpaperswereaccepted.Aposterpresentationandtechnical
discussionsessionwasalsoheld.Thewinnersoftheposterpresentationwerehonouredwithcashprizes.
Oneprizewasunderstudentcategoryandoneunderthefacultycategory.TherollickingsuccessofREPSI
2016hasreinforcedthestatusofBVCoENewDelhiasacenterofacademicexcellence.
Inconclusionfollowingrecommendationsweremade:
• ItwasmadecleartotheaudiencethatIndiaisnotdeficitinenergyresourcesandthereissurplus
powergeneratedondailybasiswhichcanbeeasilyviewedthroughanappcalledVidyutPravah,
launchedbyMinistryofPower,GovernmentofIndia.Themobileapplicationprovideshighlightsof
thepoweravailabilitystatewisethroughoutthecountryonrealtimebasis.Themobileapplication
can empower the common people to demand 24*7 power from the respective state electricity
boards.Stepsshouldbetakentomakethepublicawareofsuchinitiativestakenbytheministry
throughpressandmedia.
Despiteofrigorousplanningandinstallingredundantsystem,ourpowersystemispronetoaccidents
orfaultsattimes.Forcontinuousconditioningandmonitoringofthesystemphasormeasurement
units(PMUs)arenowinstalledwhichreportthemagnitudeandphaseangleofananalog/derived
phasorwith respect to the global time reference as per the synchrophasor standards. The load
dispatchcentrescapturethePMUdataandthisdatashouldbemadeavailabletotheresearchersfor
furtheranalysis.

• During the discussion, a paper on “Hybrid Photovoltaic Thermal Systems” pointed out that
photovoltaiccellconvertsonlyasmallpartofthesolarenergyintoelectricity.Remainingenergyis
convertedintoheatandraisesthetemperatureofsolarcell.Thesolarcellefficiencycanbeincreased
and the structural damage can be avoid by employing the photovoltaic thermal technology.
Photovoltaic thermal technology refers to the integration of a PV cell ormodule and a thermal
collector in a single piece of equipment. The glazed hybrid PVT module air collectors can be
integrated:

Hardware trainings is also given to the participants, in that part of training the focus is on the basic
electronics componentswhich performdifferent tasks their needs their operating voltage and current
handlingcapacity.
HardwareDesign&SimulationofthecircuitsontheProteussoftwarewasalsoandthehands-ondonebythe
participants.Theyusetodesignmanycircuitslikeinterfacingledandaswitchandalsothevoltagedividers
andchecktheirvoltagesatthevariousendsonthecircuit.
AfterthathowtodesignPCB(PrintedCircuitBoard)wasalsotaughttotheparticipantsatthesoftware
namedARES,differentPCBdesigningtechniques,itcreatesagreatinterestintheparticipants.
Firsthands-onpracticewasdoneontheschematicdesignandthensimulation,alsoonthePCBdesigning.All
participantsdesigntheirPCBontheirownwiththesupportofEMTECHTEAM.3Dvisualizationandother
task on the preparedPCBdesignwas also done. The real time preparedPCBs ofmultiple layerswere
displayedtotheparticipants.So,thattheygettoknowhowactuallydesignedmateriallookslikeandhow
theyutilizetheirknowledgeintherealworldofelectronics.
Therewasasessiononintroductiontotheembeddedsystem.Asmallsessionwhichincludesthatwhatis
embeddedsystemeventoallparticipants.Heexplainedthatthe“embeddedsystemissimplyacombination
ofsoftwareandhardwarewhichperformspecifictaskinagiventime.”
Hegavesomeexamplestodistinguishbetweenembeddedandnon-embeddeddevices.Thenheexplained
different microcontroller what is 8-bit microcontroller actually means and which is the leading 8-bit
microcontrollerinthemarketnowadaysthatisaboutthe“PICMICROCONTROLLER”howPICbecomesthe
marketleaderandalsoaboutthespecificationsandthefeaturesofcontrollerandmainlyhefocusedonthe

ManufacturingfacilityofNanotechPvt.Ltd.locatedatNEPZ,Noida.Allparticipantshasseenthecomplete
processofPCBmanufacturingofsingle,doubleandmultilayer.Theyhaveseenvariousmanualandautomatic
process of developing PCB. The participants got opportunity to analyze how different layered of PCB
manufactured.Inthatcompanytherewasahugemachineitwasamultitaskingmachine,inasinglemachine
theyperformdifferenttasklikeclad-boardcutting,printingPCB_designoncladboard,etching(removing
extracopper)andcoating(greenlayer).
Theparticipantswereamazedtoseethatbecausetheyhavenotvisualizesuchthingsbefore.
Then,therewasavisittoanothercompanynameDixon,theyarepioneeringinElectronicsManufacturing
systems(EMS)inIndia.
Theyhavevariousprocesswiththattheydocomponentmountingofthroughholecomponentaswellas
SMD.Therewasgoodexposuretoseedifferenttechniqueofcomponentmountingthatwashandsoldering,
therewasdifferentmachineforsolderingi.e.semisolderingmachineandfullyautomaticmachine.Inthat
fullyautomaticmachinewejusthavetoputPCBandwholecomponentplacingandmounting,solderingdone
bythatmachine.

TheStudentChaptersandSocietiesofourcollege,andtheteamoffacultyandstudentcoordinatorsoftheECEdepartment,collectivelyworkedroundtheclocktomaketheAnnualTechnicalFestagrandsuccess.Thetwodayfestheldon6th-7thOctoberwasattendedbyparticipantsfromBVP,aswellasfromvariouscollegesacrossDelhi-NCR.
Theinaugurationceremony,startedoffwiththeauspiciouseventoflightingupofthelampofknowledgebyourguestofhonourMr.AngeloMohanan.Heisawellknownnameintheknowledgemanagementcircuitwithmorethan15yearsofexperienceintheindustry,andiscurrentlyworkingasKnowledgeServicesManagerwiththeBostonConsultantsGroup.Thereafter,theBVEST2016teaserwaspresentedfollowedbywonderfuldanceandmusicperformances,whichwere lovedbyoneandallpresent.Theprincipal,Mr.Dharmender Saini and honourable guest of the day, Mr.Angelo Mohanan spoke awe-inspiring wordsenlighteningthestaffandstudentswiththeirvaluablewords.

Thefirsthalfofacademicsessionof2016-17hadbeenfullofhighsandfunfilled.TheSIGshaveconducted
theirworkshopsinatimelyfashion.Addtothis,theguest lecturesandinteractiveeventsthatBVPIEEE
organized,gavethestudentsaglimpseofwidespectrumofopportunitiesinthecollegelife.
INTRODUCTORY MEET AND FRESH ON CAMPUS
TheyearstartedoffwithanIntroductoryMeeton8thAugust2016,inthecollegeauditorium.Themeet
receivedanoverwhelmingresponsewhereinmorethan200students,fromallthebranchesoffirstyear,
showedup.TheaimofthemeetwastointroduceIEEEandhelpthemgetacquaintedtothevarioussocieties
underIEEE.ThestudentswerebriefedaboutBVPIEEE,itsvariousChaptersincludingHKN–LambdaEta
Chapter, Robotics and Automation Society, WIE (Women in Engineering), IAS (Industry Applications
Society), CS (Computer Society), and Special Interest Groups includingRAU (Robotics andAutomation
United),Code-X(thecodingSIG),Drishti (thephotographyclub),GAMMA(thegaming,multimediaand
animationSIG),BQC(thequizzingclub)andE-cell(theentrepreneurshipcell).Thevariousbenefitsofbeing
anIEEEmemberwerediscussedwhichencouragedthestudentstojointheStudentBranch.
ThiswascloselyfollowedbyFreshonCampuswhereinaninformalwelcomewasorganizedbyBVPIEEEfor
thefreshers.TheeventwassingularlyaimedasanIceBreakerevent,witnessedastupendousturnoutof
morethan200participants.Alistofriddleswashandedouttoeachteamconsisting5members.Theriddles
encompassedhintspertainingtothecampus'specificlocations.Theretheyhadtoperformanactivityor
answeraquestiontogetthenextclue.Thefirstteamtocompletethewholetaskwasannouncedasthe
winner.

TEXAS INSTRUMENT: HARDWARE DESIGN
Alongwiththeseevents,BVPIEEEhadthepleasuretohostatwo-dayhands-onHardwareDesignWorkshop
usingTIplatformonthe3rdand4thofSeptember,2016whichwasorganizedbyIEEEDelhiSection,in
collaborationwithTexasInstrumentsIndiaUniversityProgram.Over100studentsfromvariousengineering
collegesfromDelhi-NCRparticipatedintheworkshop.ThefirstdaywasdedicatedtothebasicsofMSP430,
including its architecture, special features and programming it using Energia. The second day of the
workshop,CC3200withon-chipWi-FiandInternetProtocolswasthebaseofdiscussion.Theworkshop
culminatedwith a closing ceremonywhere theVote of Thankswas given to the educators fromTexas
Instruments. Following that, the Director of two open access laboratories at NSIT, namely Centre for
ElectronicsDesignandTechnology(CEDT)andTICentreforEmbeddedProductDesign(TI-CEPD)andthe
authorof5commendablebooksontopicsconcerningElectronics,Mr.DhananjayV.Gadre,sharedafew
wordsofwisdomandinspiredeachstudentandteacherpresenttheretokeepworkingandlearningmore.

Furthermore, BVPIEEE continued with the spirit of
celebrating technology by celebrating IEEE Day on 5th
October,2016.
• Book Donation wasconductedbyBVPIEEEwherein
booksforvarioussubjectsweredonatedtothecollege
library for the benefit of the students who are
preparingforGATE/higherstudies.
• Group Discussion organized by WIE saw a great
response from the students. Mr. Abhishek Gagneja
moderated the discussion. He explained the objectives of a group discussion and encouraged the
studentstogivetheirutmostdedicationtothepanel.ThetopicoftheGDwas"Thesocial,politicaland
economicresultsofwarwithPakistan”.Thestudentsweregivensufficienttimetogathertheirthoughts
andthenpresentedtheiropinionandviewsonthetopic.Themoderatorthendiscussedeachoneoftheir
opinionsandjudgedthembasedontheircontent,presentationandclarityofthetopic.
• Mortal Kombat organisedbyGammaSIG.Thevideogameconsistedoftwoplayers,fightingagainst
eachotherwiththeirselectedcharacters,defeatingtheotherwithalargevarietyofattacks.
• Boom Boom PoworganizedbyRoboticsandAutomationSociety(RAS).About50studentsparticipated
intheevent,testingtheirreflexesinthegamewhichwaslike'thewhackamole'arcade,whererobotics
througharduino'sdevelopmentboardwasusedtorandomizeglowofLEDs.

ThiswasfollowedbyBVIEEEenthusiasticallytakingpartintheManagerialcumTechnicalFestofBharati
Vidyapeeth'sCollegeofEngineering-BVEST. BVPIEEEwas responsible for tohost threeevents,which
provedtobemajorcrowdpullersandaninstantsuccess.
• Firstly,afootballtournamentbetweenmightymetalbodies,RoboSoccer,wasaneventorganizedby
BVPIEEE RAS. 18 teams of maximum 4 contestants had registered themselves for the event and
competedagainsteachotherintheknockouttournament.Thematcheswereapleasuretowatchand
eventhedefeatedteamsweregluedtothearenaoftheeventtobeapartoftheenthusiasticcrowd.
• Secondly, the BVPIEEE - Computer Society organized an event 'MirrorMaze' whichwas a unique
programmingcompetitionconsistingof15levels.Ineachlevel,theparticipatingteamsweregivena
mirrorimage(laterallyinverted)ofacodesegmentwhichtheyhadtodecryptandfindtheoutputofto
reachthenextlevel.Theeventattractedtheparticipationofabout20buoyantteams.Itwasahuge
success intermsofbothparticipationandresponse.Theorganizerswereparticularlyproudof the
effortstoreachouttothestudentsofMAITandNIECcolleges.Theteamswereevaluateduponthelevel
reachedbytheendofthestipulatedtimelimit.Ifmorethanoneteamclearedallthelevelsbeforefinish
time,theteamwhichcompletedthemazefirstwaskeptahead.
• Lastly,BVPIEEEE-CellorganizedtheeventWallStreetRumble.Theideaoftheeventwastogiveatasteof
tradingtotheparticipants.Eachteamwasprovidedwithasetofitemsalongwiththeircostprice.The
teamshadtotradetheiritemstomakethemaximumgrossprofit.Thetrickoftheeventwastodecode
themarketvaluesoftheiritemsbysolvingasetofaptitudequestions.Theeventtestedeachteam's
abilitytostrategizeandmanagesimultaneously.
GUEST LECTURE: ROBOTIC OPERATING SYSTEMS
Lastly,BVPIEEEhadkeptupwiththetechnicalthirstofitsstudentmembersbyorganizingaworkshopon
HardwareDevelopmentusingROSwhichwasheldon27thOctoberwithRohinMalhotraasitsguestspeaker.
This workshop was attended by 15 students along with Raghav Gupta, the treasurer of IEEE Young
Professionals (Delhi Section). This workshop aimed on using Robotics Operating System or 'ROS', for
developingandefficientlycontrollinghardware.RohinMalhotraexplainedhowROScanmakeautomation
easyusingvariousfeatures itsupports.Heexplainedhowthis isgoingtobethe"nextbigthing".Some
experiencedstudentswereofferedanopportunitytoworkattheNimbleLabs.

students).OurnewSIG'Sahitye'whichfocusesonliterature,hasdrawnparticipationsinceit'sOrientation.

withtheothersocieties.

arobot!Theeventwasheldon6Octoberfrom11a.m.onwardsintheHawaMahal.
Alargenumberofstudentsparticipatedintheinterestingevent.Theeventwaschallengingyetfunandour

CodeRush was the flagship event for BVEST. It was a coding
competition segmented into four rounds. Responsibility for
conducting each round was given to different societies. CSI got to
conductthefirstqualifier.Theroundcomprisedofaquiz,whichhad20
questionsvaryingfromaptitudetoprogrammingquestions.Different
questionscarrieddifferentweightage,rangingfrom1to4,depending
uponthelevelofthequestion.Allottedtimeforquizcompletionwas15
minutes. The quiz was conducted on a framework developed by
BVPCSI'stechnicalteamandWebteam.Participantsfoundthequizto

BVCOENSSorganisedafunfilledevent"Pictionary"intheBVEST2016on6thOctoberneartheground.TheeventwasmanagedbyAdityaAggarwalandAshiGuptaandcoordinatedbyHarshitandGaurav.Pictionarywithtagline-"PictureAbhiBaakiHaiMereDost!",wasamodifiedversionofDumbcharades.Inthisevent,therewereteamsoftwomemberswhowereaskedtochooseachitfrommanyandtrytomaketheirotherpartnerguessthegivenmovienamebydrawingpicturesrelatedtoitonawhiteboardinagiventimelimit.Theteamwhodidthisinminimumtimewereadjudgedthewinners.Butthiswasnotsoeasy,theteamshadtoqualifytworoundsofmovieguessingtoreachthefinal10round.ThewinnerswereawardedwithcashprizesofRs.500andRs.200alongwithacertificateforfirstandsecondpositionrespectively.Theeventhadnoregistrationfeeandthestudentswereseenenjoyingtothefullest.Itwasportrayedasagreatsuccesswhichcontinuedforapprox3hourswithparticipationofmorethan60teams.

BVCOENSSorganisedafuneventinBVEST-TreasureHunt:NotallTreasuresareGoldandSilver,Mate!Theeventwasheldon6thOctober2016coveringtheentirecollegewhereparticipantshadtoscavangeforthetreasureinordertowin.Theeventwasahugesuccesswiththeparticipationofmorethan30teams.Eachteamcomprisedofthreeparticipants.Theentrytotheeventwasabsolutelyfreeandhadcashprizesatstake.Therewerethreesetsofcluesgiventoteams.TheseclueshadtrickyriddleswhichweretobesolvedtoreachvariousdestinationsincollegelikeBasketballcourt,Canteen,Parkingareaetc..AlltheparticipantshadputontheirSherlockcapssearchingforcluesandhavingalotoffun.Theeventlastedforaround1.5hoursandtheadjudgedwinnersandrunnersupwereawardedwiththecashprizeofRs.500andRs.300respectively.The eventwasmanaged by Ankit Jain and Chetkar Jhawhile coordinated by Pragya Jain, Vaidika andPriyanshuTyagi.

“AcleanIndiawouldbethebesttributeIndiacouldpaytoMahatmaGandhionhis150birthanniversaryin2019,”saidShriNarendraModiashelaunchedtheSwachhBharatMissionatRajpathinNewDelhi.On2ndOctober2014.
AlmosttwoyearshavepassedandmanypeoplehavebeenworkingsincetomakeourIndiacleanerandgreener.But thereare stillmanywhohavenotbecomeapartof thisnationalmovement.To createanAwarenessamongthemasses,NSSunitofBharatiVidyapeethCollegeofEngineering,organisedanintensivecleanlinesscampingon1stSeptember2016.
Agroupofmorethan200students,ledbyDr.AnilKumar,NSSofficer,BVCOE,wenttomanydifferentplaceslikePunjabiBaghChowk,PeeragarhiChowkandNangloiChowkalongwithbannersandposters.Studentstriedtoinvokeasenseofresponsibilityamongthepeople,byinvitingthemtoparticipateinthedriveandcleanthestreetsalongwiththem.
DrAnilKumarsaidthatpeopleshouldrealisethatcleanlinessandhygieneisveryimportantforoverallhealthofpeopleanddevelopmentofour country. It isourmoraldutyand responsibility tohelp fulfillMahatmaGandhi'svisionofcleanIndia.

NSS ORIENTATION
Carryingonthelegacyofprovidingenthrallingandapprisingevents,theNSSunitofBharatiVidyapeethCollegeOfEngineeringorganizedtheirOrientation2016-TributetotheUnsungHeroeson29thAugust.Theoccasionwasglorifiedby thepresenceof Dr.AtulKumarPandey fromNehruYuvaKendra-SportsMinistryofDelhi,asheinauguratedtheeventastheChiefguest.Comprisingofculturaleventsblendedwithsocialethics,theeventcommencedwithmusicanddanceperformancesbystudents,whichreflectedseveralgovernmentschemesandtrending internationalevents likeDigital India,Skill India ,RioOlympicsandSwachBharatAbhiyan.Thefun-lacedaffairdidnotendhereandwastakenfurtherbytwoentertainingskitson-DigitalIndiaandSwachBharatAbhiyan.TheinterestingQ&Aroundswerealsopulledbyjudgesontheparticipants,whointurnstartledandamusedtheaudienceandjudgeswiththeirwittyreplies.Thedayendedwithsomehighoctaneactsfromfreshers,whoshowcasedtheirskill-set.The event was co-ordinatted by Dr. Anil Kumar and student volunteers of NSS unit, whose zeal andenthusiasmmadetheprogrammeagreatsuccess.

The NSS unit of the Bharti Vidyapeeth College of Engineering commemorated 70 years of India’sIndependencebyorganisingAzadi-70programmeintheInstitution.Mainthemeofprogrammewaspayingtribute toall thegreat freedom fighterswhosacrificed their life so thatwecanbreathe freely inairofindependence.Focuswaspaidonthegreatdeedsofthosecourageoushearts.NavalofficerCommanderSh.Jaiveer was present on the occasion to inaugurate the programme Co-ordinated byMr. Anil Kumar,programmestartedwithhoistingofnational flagbynaval officer and thenatmosphere receivedwarmmelodyofnationalanthem.Theprogrammecontainedanumberofenthrallingactivitiesincludinglemonrace,threeleggedrace,tugofwar,stackraceandmanymoresuchadrenalinefilledevents.NSSvolunteersmadeprogrammeasupersuccessbytheirmanagementskills.Studentsactivelyparticipatedinthoseeventsandprizeswereawardedtothewinners.Thewholeeventendedleavingbehindpatrioticvibes.

TheNSSunitoftheBhartiVidyapeethCollegeofEngineeringorganisedaEclusiveFilmmakingworkshop(formsmartphonesanddigitalcamerausers)inourInstitution,inguidanceofNSSOfficerDr.AnilKumar.Thisprogrammewasperformedby collabrationwithCentre forYouth (NGO)andassociationwithYesfoundation(Yes!Iamthechange).Inthisprogramme,themembersoftheCentreforYouth(NGO)definebreiflytostudents,abouthowtomakethefilmwiththehelpofthetheirsmartphonesanddigitalcameas.Morethan90studentsattendedthisworkshop.Allthestudentsenjoyedthisworkshopandlearnedshortfilmmaking.

Formedon2ndNovember,2015,EnactusBVCOEworkstochangelivesofthelessfortunateforthebetterandbringachangeinthesocietythroughentrepreneurialactions.WeareproudtobethefirstonestointroduceEnactuscultureinIPUniversityandtotransformstudentsintoyoungentrepreneurs.
EnactusIndiaNationalCompetitionbringsStudent,AcademicandBusinessleadersfromaroundthecountry.Beyondtheexperienceof the competition, the event was complete with additionalopportunitiesforleaderstoconnect.We,EnactusBVCOEdebutedat the Nationals India in the year 2016 held at Taj lands' end,Mumbai,andpresentedourprojectsPragatiandAarogya.NotonlyweimpressedtheJudgeswithourinitiatives,welearntagreatdealabout the CorporateWorld, we gathered invaluable experiencewhichhelpedusinimprovingonourprojectandmakingthelivesoftheunderprivilegedevenbetter.
Tochangethedestiniesofimpoverishedandoppressedwomen,togivethemwingstofly,wehavetakenupaninitiative 'PRAGATI'where many impoverished women will get trained under abeauticiancourseunderthePMKVYscheme.Inadditiontothat,weprovidethemwithtrainingtoimprovetheirsoft skills, enhance their personality and increase businessacumen.After the completion of their training and gaining sufficientexperience, they'll start their own beautician ventures whichwould be supervised by Enactus BVCOE. We have also taughtunderprivilegedchildrenfromtherootstohelpthemgrow.LittleknowledgecanmakethemevaluatethisiswhatweatENACTUSBVCOEthink.

ENACTUS ORIENTATION
Alotofunderprivilegedwomendonotusestandardqualitypadsdue to unawareness and economic problems. Through theinitiative 'Aarogya' we tend to solve the problems of Poor andunhygienic Sanitary practices amongst women. In coordinationwithGOONJOrganizationwehave solved theseproblems.Goonjsuppliesusthepadsthatarefurthersoldinthecommunitiesbywomeninvolvedinthisproject.Wealsogivethemsessionstomakethem aware about the importance of maintaining a propersanitation. Further, we tend to cover Government Schools andGovernment Hospitals to help improve themenstrual health ofgirlsandwomenthere.
