Project  Overview    Aligned  with  Penn’s  Sustainable  Transportation  Initiatives,  the  Division  of  Business  Services  has  provided  bicyclists  with  two  repair  stations  near  two  high-‐capacity  bike  parking  locations  on  campus.  These  bike  repair  stations  provide  a  valued  amenity  and  recognition  of  the  importance  of  cycling  to  the  Penn  community.  The  stations  include  tools  to  change  a  tire,  instruments  to  adjust  the  seat  and  brakes,  and  a  self-‐service  air  pump  and  are  free  for  anyone  to  use.  One  repair  station  is  located  at  the  garage  on  34th  and  Chestnut  Street  where  there  are  covered  bike  racks  and  the  other  is  located  near  the  bike  corral  by  the  Chemistry  building  on  34th  and  Spruce  Street.        More  information  about  the  bike  repair  stations  can  be  found  on  Penn’s  Biking  Website—Read  More    Lessons  Learned    The  easy  installation  and  positive  feedback  from  bikers  demonstrates  both  the  scalability  of  this  project  to  additional  locations  on  campus  and  the  high  demand  for  a  bike  resource  like  the  repair  station.    The  repair  stations  will  help  encourage  greater  use  of  cycling  at  Penn,  reduce  vehicular  traffic,  save  energy  and  contribute  to  Penn  meeting  its  goal  of  50%  of  commuters  using  non-‐drive  alone  modes.      Press  Penn  Current  features  bike  repair  stations  –Read  More
