DIRECTOR'S NOTE
Welcome to Boston Children’s Theatre's production of Cabaret . When I first began working on this material, it became obvious to me that theintolerances that existed in the world of 1930’s Berlin are still very much alive today.Collaborating with the students, conversing with them and exploring topics such as raceand creed, war and freedom, and having the opportunity to bring these character to life, has been an incredible journey. Working with and witnessing the way the studentssupport and champion one another has been an inspiration. It further proves to me thatwe must all practice acceptance, love, and as the MC says, learn to truly “live and letlive” in the best sense of the phrase. It is our duty in this increasingly volatile globalclimate. Over the past few weeks, the creative team, cast and I have dissected the past andthe present through the evocative script and score of Cabaret. It’s been a pleasure towitness the students flourish and soar throughout the process. These creative, supportive, loving kids are indeed our future, and for this, I am grateful. And now….on with the show! Danielle Ferland , Director
