What is Botox?
Botox - a drug derived from a neurotoxin. It is
used to treat your facial lines and wrinkles.
Botox injections are good for those people, like
you, who want to look more youthful. But, you
have to be knowledgeable first about these
injections before you decide to get them or not.
Botox has different commercial names, such as Bocouture, Dysport and
Myobloc, their purpose are still the same. They will still tighten up the
muscles on your face and get rid of those facial lines and wrinkles. They
can be highly toxic but that depends on the dosage taken. A lot of people
who have received Botox injections have never experienced any serious
adverse side-effects, although there are exceptions when it comes to this.
How is it Used?
Botox is injected into the neuromuscular tissue
after the powder is diluted with saline. It takes
around 24-72 hours to take effect but sometimes
the effects won’t show up until 4 or 5 days.
