Dear teachers and parents,
At the moment I am working on my reflective project, which is based on ‘airlines constantly changing their prices depending on an array of factors’. In this project I will be looking into this phenomenon and require some primary data as a part of this; your help of taking a few minutes to answer my survey will enable me to better understand how they change their flight prices. It is an anonymous survey, It is entirely your choice to participate in this research but your re-sponses would be appreciated and valued. All reasonable steps will be taken to ensure confiden-tiality. Below is a survey link for you to complete if should wish to do so.
If you wish to learn more about the results of the research please feel free to contact me.

The Porcupines have been designing and constructing their own circus tents this week.
It was important to understand how tiered seating in a circus allows all members of the
audience to have a great view of the show. The class experimented by creating differ-
ent styles of seating using lego bricks. The planning stage involved consideration of dif-
ferent materials to join the structure such as tape, staples and glue. The class experi-
mented to decide which was stronger. Creating structural supports was the first step of
construction. The Porcupines built different style supports and had to adapt their plans
if they were not able to hold the shape. Finally, the circus tents needed to be covered
to ensure protection from the elements. The Porcupines did a great job and are looking
forward to making puppets next week to go inside their own circus tents.

Dear parents,
I would like to invite BISH parents to a presentation given by myself about the school Moodle and
the Global Classroom. The Moodle is an online area that BISH staff will use to set homework and
host resources and the Global Classroom is produced by Nord Anglia to give students opportunities
beyond their normal school curriculum.
This will take place on Thursday 6th November at 8.30am in the main hall. As a taster I have pro-
duced a short screen cast going over some of the basics aspects of the Moodle site. Type in this ad-
dress to access it: http://quick.as/ry0ptyjq
I would also like to refer back to the notes I put in last week’s newsletter about security, which are
below:
Keep your login information a secret; do not allow others to use it to access the Global Class-
room. Everyone needs to know that you are who your profile says you are.
Don’t share any personal information outside your private profile e.g. email address, telephone
number, Skype address. This is to prevent you from receiving any unwanted communication.
Show consideration for others and their ideas and respond to their messages in a thoughtful and
respectful manner. Bullying will not be tolerated.
I would also like to add:
Students should ensure that the password they have chosen is not something that could be eas-
ily guessed by someone (e.g. name, age, address).

This Tuesday saw our re-match against St. John’s. Since our last game, we have been practicing our posi-
tioning, stick work and hits. The girls were ready and rearing to go. With the cooler weather on our side,
they were in high spirits.
The first half saw excellent defence from Georgia Mook applying lots of pressure on their strikers, as well as
Sophie Anderson being able to clear the ball out of the danger zone. Elisabeth Dubus once again worked
tirelessly in the goal and by half time we had only conceded three. (It was four in our first game).
Shivani Banjeree played excellently out on the wing, assertively aggressive in her tackles and Pluk Korsen
worked tirelessly in the centre midfield bringing the ball up the pitch.
In the second half, our legs grew tired and there was no stopping the mighty St.
John’s team as they had a whole new army of substitutes, where
as we only had three.
The final score was 6-0 and even with the same score line as our first game, the
girls looked much more like a team on the pitch and have impressively increased
their skills over the last few training sessions.
We have one final game scheduled this season against Duchesne next Wednesday;
we are drafting in some girls from the Junior Varsity team to help increase our
squad….watch the newsletter next week!

The team: Shivani Banerjee, Samantha Lewthwaite, Daphne Chiew, Elisabeth Dubus, Anya
Adamson, Puck Van De Ven, Florence Williams, Olivia Williams, Sophie Anderson, Hannah
Anderson, Emma Harvey, Pluk Korsen, Georgia Mook and Emily Taylor.
