The EUSF aid was used for:

During the spring of 2005 Bulgaria was hit by severe floods caused by torrential rains. Nearly two-thirds of the country's territory and 3.2 million inhabitants were affected by the heavy rainfalls.

BULGARIA The European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) was created after the severe floods in Central Europe in the summer of 2002. Since then, it intervened following 80 disasters covering a range of different catastrophic events including floods, forest fires, earthquakes, storms and drought. 24 different European countries have been supported so far with a total amount of over €5.2 billion.

Following the Commission's proposal, Bulgaria will receive €2.2 million from the EUSF due to the floods that hit the south-eastern part of Bulgaria in October 2017.
