From the Principal’s Desk…
Welcome to Week 5 Term 4
Thank you again for your feedback through the star and wishes protocol and/or your attendance at the Community Meeting last week. As a result of your feedback and that of the students and staff, we have confirmed that student behavior is an area of improvement that we are all striving for.
In recognition of this, we will be initiating the ‘Notice of Less Than Acceptable Behaviour’ communication letter. Tomorrow, your child will receive a letter outlining its purpose and what to do if you receive one.
In anticipation, we would like to thank you for your support in improving the learning environment for all our children and ensuring that our children live up to your high behavioural expectations.
Have a great week, Mrs Kim Laffan Principal
From the Assistant Principal’s Desk…
Bike and Scooter Safety
The safety of our children is of utmost importance. If your child rides a bike or scooter to school can you please discuss with them the importance of road safety. We have had two reports in the past week of students involved in ‘near misses’ when riding home from school. The Vicroads website has a fantastic resource - ‘A family Guide to Bike Ed’ for families and carers to help ensure our students stay safe that is well worth looking at. It outlines how to learn to ride safely, how to ensure your bike is safe, appropriate gear for bike riding and safety on roads and footpaths. Manners Matter This week’s focus is I care about others. Please remember
to be Kind, Proud and Safe at all times.

Day for Daniel Last Friday, Ian McKenzie, a Daniel Morcombe Foundation Ambassador, presented information to all the students for the annual ‘Day For Daniel’ initiative. The initiative aims to educate children and adults about keeping safe through child safety and protection initiatives. It aims to help empower our students to recognise, react and report if they feel something is not right. Thanks Ian for visiting KPS.
