However,therearemorethan400businessesemployingnearly7,200peoplethatareentirelyuniquetoFortCollins.Toencouragefolkstofrequenttheselocalbusinesses,theCity of Fort Collins sponsored the 2nd annual Be LocalCouponBookproducedbytheRockyMountainSustainableLivingAssociation.Thebookincludescouponsformorethan$6,000worthofsavings.Visitfcgov.com/businessforoutletsanddetails.SUSTAINABLE CHOICESBeinglocalalsomeansmakingsustainablechoicestopre-serveourcommunity.ThisyeartheCity,inpartnershipwiththeDowntownDevelopmentAuthorityandtheDowntownBusinessAssociation,replacedtheconventionalholidaylightswithLEDs(lightemittingdiode).Theresultisare-ductionofenergyusebyapproximately90percent!

ForthoseinterestedinreplacingtraditionalholidaylightswithLEDs,FortCollinsUtilitiesispartneringwithlocalretailerstoprovidediscountsfromNov.1–Dec.15.Plus,residents can save evenmoreby recycling conventionallightstringsattheHolidayLightingTurn-InEvents:
