Bogotá
Magic realism is a genre where magic elements are a natural part in an otherwise mundane, realistic environment.
That means a place where reality and fantasy meet each other. No wonder the style of Colombian author
Gabriel García Márquez emerged from there – there is a dreamlike quality to Colombia. With the sun foreveroverhead, heart-stopping vistas in every direction and the warmth of the locals putting you at ease – you may find
it di cult to leave this country.Colombian culture, like the country’s weather, varies by altitude. The essence of
Colombia resides in the mountains in the alpine cities. Bonding together colors, people and diversity, Colombia
appears as a huge potential for a life changing experience.

Taxi Service
In Bogotá, you can find tourism, city, inter-municipal, and interstate taxis. Therates within the city are very economic and the service is of good quality. The taxi service can also be rented by the hour. It is recommended to takethe taxis at the hotels or to call for the service. Therefore, we strongly dis-courage taking taxis on the street, especially at night.
Inside the taxi, in a visible spot for the passenger, there must be an identifi-cation of the vehicle and the driver, as well as a list showing the rates ac-cording to the taximeter units and the corresponding Colombian pesos ($)equivalence. Trips from and to the airport, at night, on holidays, and thoserequested by phone are charged with an extra rate. Trips outside theurban area have a legal extra charge.
