NEEDED FOR GOD’S HELPING HANDS
October
Juice, Peanut Butter, & Cooking Oil
As we begin another active time in the life of Cayce UMC, I want to thank you, the members and friends of this great church. Thank you for the ways you take care of each other when illness or disaster strike. When a need is made known, you take the initiative and find ways to be there for those who are hurting. Thank you for your generosity with your financial gifts that equip the church for ministry around the world. Thank you for the ways you volun-teer and simply live the Gospel. Whether you pick up bulletins in the sanctu-ary after worship, teach a Sunday School class, serve lunch to the teachers at Davis School or any other of countless and anonymous ways you make the love of God known in the name of Christ through the ministry of the church---I thank you. Thank you for the ways you as a church adapt to new ministry opportunities. Even when it is not exactly your preference of how worship or service is done, thank you for your patience and willingness to try new ways to reach new peo-ple. Thank you for the ways you come together as a church and our various Sunday School classes when the world around us finds ways to segregate and divide people along political lines and in so many other harmful ways; who you are together as Cayce UMC is so much stronger than the forces that would divide us. Thank you for the ways you work with and support the staff that serves us so well. From the nursery to the office and the choir loft, you work with the best church staff I have had the honor to serve. Finally, thank you for all the ways you support my family and me. You have blessed me in the ways you have responded to my leadership; you have allowed me to walk on your holy ground in the good as well as the challenging times of your lives. I am hon-ored to be your pastor. Thank You, Joseph
