AnnouncementAt the direction of the City Council, Denton Municipal Electric is pleased to announce that it has successfully negotiated and executed a multi-year agreement with NextEra Energy Power Marketing, LLC to purchase up to 60 MWs of renewable energy for our customers.
This amount of renewable energy constitutes greater than 40% of DME’s energy portfolio on a calendar year basis.

We thank the City Council for their leadership and foresight in allowing us to pursue this important transaction.
