Cesar Chavez(1927 - 1993)
• Chavez was born on a farm in Arizona.
• He became a migrant worker when he was ten years old.
• He believed in using nonviolence to achieve justice for all farmers.
Cesar Chavez made the world a better place without hurting anyone. This
method of protest is called nonviolence. People who try to
change things this way go on marches, strike and refuse to eat until their
demands are met.
Cesar E. Chavez, a Mexican American labor leader, began to organize agricultural workers in California during the 1960's. Chavez established what is now the United Farm Workers of America (UFW), a union of migrant workers and other farm laborers.
