PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
• Use to talk about actions that are happening right now
I am working.
He is carrying the boxes.
They are talking.
We are writing.
THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
is used for1. Actions which are happening at or
around the moment of speaking.• Now I’m doing the washing up.• She is working very hard
nowadays.

Present Continuous Verb Tense
• Use to talk about something that is happening these days, but not necessarily right now
She is studying at Preston University.
PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
2. Temporary situations.
• I’m staying with a friend at the moment.
They normally play tennis.
But this week they are skating.
The Present Continuous Tense is used for
4. Fixed arrangements in the near future.
• They are getting married next week.
They are celebrating a party next weekend.

Now, at the moment, today, nowdays, this week.

Rule #5:
Two syllable verb with final consonant + vowel + consonant and the last syllable is stressed, double final consonant + ing
When in doubt, consult a dictionary!!

We form the present continuous tense with the present tense of be and a verb ending in ing.
On the day of the Clean Beaches Campaign,
