3 Major Risk Factors
Examples: adjusting radio, being angry, using cell phone, texting
Examples: bright sun, construction, snow & ice, curve
Examples: bald tires, dirty windshield, poor brakes

# 1 Orderly visual search pattern- a process of searching critical areas in a regular sequence
# 2 Clues –look for:
1. other users - ex: movement of others, pedestrians or bicyclists, develop habit of ground viewing
2. roadway features and conditions – ex: multilane to single lane, roadway surface, road hazards
3. traffic controls– ex: signs, traffic signals, police officers
