Energy Distribution• Power bank powers both the microprocessor and mobile device
• Arduino Uno operates at 3.3V
• Higher voltage to I/O pin will damage board
• Output 2 will power microprocessor, but voltage must be decreased to 3.3V
• iPhone charges at 5V, 1A
• Higher current will decrease charging time
• Output 1 of power bank will charge iPhone at 5V, 2.1A
Microcontroller5 microcontrollers were compared• 3 Arduino boards (Uno, Due, Mega)
• 2 TI boards (MSP 430 Series, Tiva C Series)
Requirements
• Low operating voltage
• Small and lightweight
• Compatible with light sensors and Bluetooth connectivity
• Sufficient pins to insert all accessories
• Cheap price
MicrocontrollerWe chose the Arduino Uno microcontroller• 5V operating
• Bluetooth/light sensor compatible
• Small and light weight
• Various online resources
• Designed for beginners in electronics
• 14 I/O pins
• Our CpE Aaron has experience coding in Arduino
Bluetooth Module• JY MCU V1.6
• Range of up to 10 meters (~30 ft)
• Compatible with the Arduino Uno microcontroller
• Compatible with android applications
• Only needs an input voltage of 3.3 V and the Arduino Uno supplies a 5V output
Microcontroller
Android Application• Will be developed using NetBeans and Eclipse
• IOS application will still be worked on but due to validation timing, may not be available during final showcase
• Will use control the car using basic directional pad use, accelerometer and
• We already own android devices to use for testing
