A note from Fr. Chris - Jacob’s Ladder
In Jamaica, there are no facilities or provisions to care for anyone over the age of 18 with mental or physical disabilities. At Mustard Seed Communities, Jacob’s Ladder is an apostolate to care for adults with disabilities and is located on 150 acres of land donated to Mustard Seed. Eventually, they plan to have 100 cottages for staff and residents, that will provide homes for 500 young adults with disabilities. Currently, there are over 100 residents at Jacob’s Ladder and construction is ongoing. Move a Mountain missionaries spent time helping out at Jacob’s Ladder, caring for
the residents and lending a hand with the construction.
Through the generous supporters and benefactors of Move a Mountain Missions, we were able to donate the money for one of the cottages at Jacob’s Ladder; and while we were there, we had the privilege to be a part of the blessing of the cottage! The pictures tell you more than words ever will. We are so blessed to be a part of this beautiful community. In the Merciful Heart of Jesus - Fr. Chris

holy day! Let us also remember to pray for all of our holy priests.
Prayer for Priests by Pope Benedict XVI
Lord Jesus Christ, eternal High Priest, you offered yourself to the Father on the altar of the Cross and through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit gave your priestly people a share in your redeeming sacrifice. Hear our prayer for the sanctification of our priests.
Grant that all who are ordained to the ministerial priesthood may be ever more conformed to you,
the divine Master. May they preach the Gospel with pure heart and clear conscience.
Let them be shepherds according to your own Heart, single- minded in service to you and to the Church
and shining examples of a holy, simple and joyful life. Through the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
your Mother and ours, draw all priests and the flocks entrusted to their care to the fullness of eternal life
where you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN

AMERICAN HISTORY THIS WEEK IN BLACK HISTORY
June 23,1976 William DeHart Hubbard attended the University of Michigan and was the first African American to win a gold medal at the Olympics as an individual, placing first in the running long jump. As an African American, attending the University of Michigan and running track there was an achievement enough of its own. In Hubbard’s senior class, only eight out of the 1,456 graduating students were African American. He excelled in academics, graduating with honors in 1927. William DeHart Hubbard died on June 23, 1976.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT It is the mission of the people of Saint Patrick-Saint Stanislaus Kostka Parish to be ambassadors for Christ. All are welcome in our diverse and historic faith community in the Strip District. We strive to nurture and to grow in the sacramental

MERV’S SOCKS FOR THE HOMELESS The Red Door ministry would like to extend it's heartfelt gratitude... from our heads to our "soles" to seminarian Merv Knieriem, the
Swissvale Knights of Columbus - All Saints Council, and the good people of the East Hills grouping that includes the Good Shepherd, Madonna del Castello, Word of God, and St. Maurice parishes! Recently, we have received an abundance of socks... hundreds of socks... as part of a sock drive called "Merv's Socks for the Homeless". Mr. Merv Knieriem, a Diocese of Pittsburgh seminarian, has organized an effort in cooperation with the Swissvale Knights of Columbus to collect socks
for those most in need. Inspired through his own service to the poor for more than ten years as well as his own penchant for wearing unique socks, Merv wanted to make a difference. He noticed that he would always be asked for a pair of socks while serving in a local ministry and realized this would be a tangible way to provide help, and help he has provided! Thanks to the
generous donations of so many, we have this much-needed resource available for those who need them at the Red Door. Thank you and God's blessings to all!

June 29 St. Peter and St. Paul
St. Peter traveled with Jesus throughout His public ministry. Despite betraying Jesus
after His arrest, Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For flesh and
blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock, I
will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound
in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:17b-19).
St. Paul, once known as Saul, persecuted Christians prior to his conversion. Literally knocked to the ground on his way to Damascus, Saul heard Jesus ask, “Saul, why are
you persecuting Me?” (Acts 9:4) That day changed Saul’s life forever. He became a great missionary for
Christianity, eventually known as Paul. He wrote the majority
of the letters of the New Testament.
St. Peter and St. Paul are
integral in the formation of the early church. They were both
courageous, zealous, passionate and dynamic - and martyred for
their faith.
Their feast day is June 29.

Divine Mercy Blessings—A beautiful testimony of God’s Divine Mercy
We would like to share this amazing testimony that happened on the Feast of Divine Mercy this year! We hope that this story can inspire many more to do the same!
"On Divine Mercy Sunday my husband and I attended the Divine Mercy hour at St Mary’s. Every day I pray the consecration of families to the Divine Mercy. All I can say is thank you so very much! By the grace of God wonderful things are happening not only for us but also for a friend I shared with. On Sunday our parish Priest is coming to our home to consecrate our home not only to Jesus, through your prayer but also to Our Lady of Fatima. Others will be here so the good just keeps going and growing.....I do believe you are setting Pittsburgh on fire with the Mercy and Love of God....My friend in Atlanta had made for you a hundred Holy cards with that consecration prayer on the back of a picture of Divine Mercy to say thank you. With so many Masses being taken away and soon churches closing you carry with you hope! What a blessing you all are! Thank you, sincerely" Peggy Beach
Wow! So awesome!
So we have the cards with the prayer if anyone is interested. Just let us know and we can send you a few! ([email protected])
