Walk DetailsLeave the main Woodside Road and walk all the wayup Park Bottom and between the two large gates stoops, here the road divides three ways. Our route is straightahead through the gap at the left hand side of the field

gate, before starting a steady climb up the rough surfacedfield track heading towards the large electricity pylon.Just beyond the pylon as you pass Park Dam on yourright, continue to follow the track as it bears left stillclimbing until you reach the field gate at the top. Herego through the gap at the left hand side of the gate tojoin the wide rough surfaced road which crosses fromleft to right. Turn right here along the rough roadcontinuing straight ahead where the surface changesto tarmac as you pass between the buildings of RoydHall and Royds Hall Farm.

Follow the short section of surfaced road to where itends at the T junction with another road which crossesfrom left to right. Turn right here for only a very shortdistance before turning left off the road to go throughthe narrow stile in the stone wall on your left. Once overand into the field the path divides, one path is straightahead parallel to the buildings on your left, our routebears slightly to the right across the field heading forthe stone wall which can be seen at the far end of thefield. On nearing the wall the stile leading into the nextfield becomes obvious; go through to follow the pathstraight ahead now keeping close to the dry stone wallon your right. After approximately 150yds/137m thewall ends, here continue following the obvious path bycrossing the foundations of an old wall to continue againstraight ahead walking beneath the trees.

After approximately 200yds/183m near to an old stonegate stoop on the left, several well worn paths converge. Here avoid the temptation to turn off left or right butcontinue straight ahead following the well worn path asit starts its gentle descent the short distance down to afield and kissing gate to the rear of the houses whichcan be seen ahead. On reaching the gates turn sharpleft to walk along the well defined path the short distanceup the slight incline to the second field and kissing gate.Go through the kissing gate and into Jagger Park Woodto follow the very wide level path straight ahead as itmeanders all the way through the woodland beneaththe trees for approx 1 mile, taking great care not to betempted to deviate off the main path onto one of themany lesser paths which run parallel with or cross overour route, or to walk too near the edge where the pathis along the top of the steep ravine. Eventually the paththrough the woodland bears left and continues againfor quite a distance before reaching the top of a longflight of wooden steps which lead down to a footbridgeat the bottom near to a stream.

Turn left across the footbridge and walk the short distancebefore climbing a few stone steps to the left hand sideof the stone built bridge and out through a gap in thewall onto a rough surfaced road. Turn left for a shortdistance up the rough road to where it divides at the top

of the first steep incline. Here take the left turn to continuesteadily uphill following the rough road between old HannaWood on your right and the farmland to your left. Eventuallyafter quite a distance uphill our track joins another trackwhich crosses from left to right, here turn right uphill forapproximately 438yds/400m until you reach the first trackleading off to the right which is partially blocked by a largestone. Here turn right avoiding the large stone to walkalong the path towards the two mobile phone masts whichcan easily be seen ahead.

Just beyond the masts where the track starts to turn rightour route leaves the track by turning left crossing a brokendown stone wall and into a field. Cross the field straightahead heading slightly to the right of the large metalelectricity pylon which can be seen ahead, to find a stilethrough a stone wall. Go through the stile and down afew old stone steps then it's downhill across the fieldheading towards the pylon to rejoin the track you walkedup earlier. On reaching the track turn right downhill to gothrough the gateways at the bottom and back along ParkBottom to where you started your walk.
