Over 20 black and white photos by Clark Baker will be displayed
at the Analog Explorations photo exhibition held at Ganzo Gallery
Restaurant. This exhibit ion includes analog photographs
depict ing quintessential scenes of the American South. Clark
sought to reveal the personality of the South, including subject
matter such as the importance of religion, the simplicity of the
landscape, and the rich historical past. When asked about his
documentary style of photography, he stated, “Our culture is fast,
noisy, modern, complicated and violent in many ways.
I think I enjoy creating images in opposition to those characteristics.”
Although this series of images focuses on attributes of the
American South, Clark has chosen to display his images in Italy
because of a personal connection to Florence and his prevailing
interest in history. This poignant series offers commentary on the
strong ties people have to the south.
Clark Baker has been practicing photography since he was 12 years
old. He describes himself as a self-taught photographer, but has
photographed all over the world. Clark accomplished his undergraduate
degree in Social Sciences at California Polytechnic State University,
received an MA in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, and
then a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Alabama,
Tuscaloosa. He currently teaches at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
of The Arts), in Via dei Macci 85 rosso.
moderna, complessa e violenta in molti modi. Mi piace creare
immagini in opposizione a queste caratteristiche.“
State University.

Ganzo is a creative learning lab and the school restaurant of Apicius International School of Hospitality. It is a part of the school and
represents the institution’s approach to experiential learning. At Ganzo, students and supervising faculty create high quality, versatile, and
both traditional and innovative menus. The wine list proudly features wines from the cantinas of the Apicius Friends initiative represented
by producers officially affiliated with the institution. Apicius School of Food and Wine Studies as well as Hospitality students and faculty
oversee the daily operations of Ganzo as part of their academic coursework. Principles and practical applications of front/back of the house
management, professional restaurant preparation, professional beverage management, and customer relations are practiced through
experiential learning during their academic program of study. Ganzo reading room and art gallery. Interested artists have the chance to exhibit
their work within Ganzo’s spaces, and the revolving calendar of personal exhibitions generate a continuous renewal of the arts and culture.
