A properly functioning drainagesystem is the prerequisite for amasonry design to achieve maximumthermal efficiencies and reducedmaintenance and repair costs. Mortar obstructions and droppingswhich impede drainage arecompletely prevented by installingfull-height protection using CavClear®
Insulation System.
The CavClear Insulation Systemfeatures the CavClear Masonry Matfactory bonded to rigid insulation. The Masonry Mat will not allowmortar to make contact with theinsulation. The CavClear InsulationSystem is installed full-height behindbrick or stone in an insulatedmasonry wall to provide a continuousdrainage area.

Size and Dimension
The CavClear Insulation System isavailable with most insulation typesand any thickness CavClear MasonryMat (d", ½", ¾", 1", 1¼", 1¾").
Piece dimension is dependent on theinsulation type specified/ordered. Most are available in 4' x 8' sheets.Convenient 16"x96" sheets may alsobe available to fit easily between jointreinforcement.
A ¼" to d" tolerance between theCavClear Masonry Mat and themasonry veneer allows finger spaceand variation in actual air spacedimension. When ordering orspecifying the CavClear InsulationSystem, indicate both the thickness ofthe mat and the insulation as well asthe insulation type (extruded type orpolyisocyanurate type and class).
One-Step Installation
Easy installation makes this productthe ultimate air space maintenanceand drainage system. Masons simplyinstall insulation in typical manner asbrickwork is completed.
Installation
1. Install CavClear InsulationSystem continuously in exteriormasonry cavities duringconstruction of the exterior wythe.
2. Install horizontally between wallties or joint reinforcement.
3. Stagger end joints in adjacentrows.
4. Butt adjacent pieces to moderatecontact.
5. Fit to perimeter construction andpenetrations without voids.
6. Do not install more insulationsystem than can be covered bybrick in the same day.
