Some requests to SiD for the CLIC CDR preparation
We want to continue working in a good relationship with SiD !
The support we request from SiD for the CLIC CDR will be mostly in the domain of:
• Support/consultation on software tools and simulations• Editing support:
– main editor Harry Weerts, (Marcel Stanitzki)– chapter editors: NN, Marcel Demarteau, Tim Nelson, Andy White, Marco
Oriunno, Jan Strube, Marty Breidenbach• Some help with the cost
All other help is most welcome !
CDR Authorship
The CLIC CDR will be based on vast amounts of work, previously carried out by members of SiD.
All SiD members will be given the opportunity to sign the CLIC CDR.

Support/consultation on software tools and simulations:
• Generator level– We would like to participate in the current effort of exchange of information
between ILD and SiD, and in the attempt to automatize some of the procedure• Grid production
– Support and exchange of information (we will use DIRAC tool)– Help with issue of duplicate “ILC VO” ?
• CLIC_SiD CDR baseline– Based in sidloi3
• SiD tracking tools– Continued consultation/help with adaptation of tracking tools
• Particle flow– Continued help interfacing PandoraPFA_new to the SiD software– Support during the debugging/checking/adaptation phase
• Physics analysis– Support and help for analyses that resemble prior SiD work

CLIC “editing” status
Status of CDR preparation following dedicated meetings for each of the chapters
Event generation and grid production
Since June: • Participation of CLIC (Stephane Poss, Marco Battaglia) in “ILC
common Monte Carlo data subgroup” (Tim, Akiya, Mikael B.)=> advice and streamlining of tools and methods
• Thorough assessment of gg=> hadrn background generation by Tim Barklow and Daniel Schulte
• Grid production using Whizard (ILCDIRAC, Stephane Poss)
Very good progress.
Thank you very much !
Continued collaboration will be highly appreciated
Link to USA version of “ILC VO” still missing.

SiD tracking
Since June: • Visit of Christian Grefe to SLAC => with help of Rich Partridge and
Norman Graf a number of tracking issues were solved.• On the CLIC side, Christian Grefe and Blai Pie Valls use/assess SiD
tracking for the CDR.• Tracking issues related to muon ID (PFO, Pandora adaptations) =>
follow tracking in flipping B-field.• => Currently there are still SiD tracking issues on “critical path” for
the CDR.• LCFI optimisation (b’s from light Higgs decay) at high energy
currently ongoing by Tomas Lastovicka (Prague).
Continued help from SiD tracking experts strongly needed.
Planned visit of Norman Graf and Jeremy McCormick to CERN, first week of November (for outstanding tracking and PFA issues).

Pandora PFA and SiD
Since June: • Essentials of Pandora framework in SLiC seem to work.• Thanks to work of Norman Graf et al. in collaboration with
Cambridge team.• Performance assessment, calibration and debugging:
– Currently part-time involvement of: Marcel Stanitzki, Jan Strube, Peter Speckmayer, Christian Grefe, Angela Lucaci-Timoce
• Pandora PFA use of SiD detector is currently restricted to analog scintillator-based HCAL option
Full check-out and optimisation of Pandora PFA in SiD is on the critical path for the CDR. Additional resources are required.
(Jet energy calibration, energy resolution, particle ID), etc.

CLIC_SiD simulation geometry (3)
Input from SiD management required to guide choice on:
• HCAL technology option for simulation model CLIC_SiD – Crucial to have working software very soon (including PFA performance)
for the model chosen
• Vertex detector layout choice– See IWLC talk of Dominik Dannheim– Layout choice, # material, pixels size, analog/digital readout

CERN LCD group and ILC DBD
The CERN LCD group plans to participate in ILC DBD efforts (SiD and ILD) after the CLIC CDR– Fair sharing of efforts between ILD and SiD– Preference for common issues SiD/ILD/CLIC– The more similar the software frameworks get, the better for all of us.
We currently see participation in the domains of:– Adaptations of ILD and SiD for the 1 TeV case– Benchmark studies– DBD editing
CERN LCD resource level for dedicated DBD work still to be defined
CERN LCD is currently preparing a hardware R&D program (tungsten HCAL, CLIC vertex detector technology, solenoid R&D, QD0 stability tests, power pulsing– Opportunities for collaboration with ILC in these areas
