Congratulations Ms. Onago
Crystal Onago, science teacher at CCHS, applied for and received a STEM Innovation Grant from Freeport-McMoRan (Henerson Mine) to enhance science curriculum for 21st century learners at the high school. STEM Innovation Grants are designed to support K-12 teachers and schools in their efforts to develop, improve or expand innovative instructional programs in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Since the program's inception in 2008, more than $780,000 has been invested in STEM projects benefitting K-12 schools in Freeport-McMoRan communities. Grants up to $5,000 are awarded to support projects in the eligible project categories. A school is eligible to receive up to two (2) STEM Innovation grants during each application period. Each applicant / teacher / classroom may receive one grant award per school year.

Congrats to Reese Onago (9th grade)
and Mr. Onago
Reese Onago tried out and was selected for the Northwest All-
American Team for baseball. The region is made up of 7 states
with multiple try out locations. He was 1 of 3 Colorado kids
selected to play at ESPN wide world of sports in Orlando,FL.
The team that Mr. Onago was selected to Coach went 2-2 in the
All-American Games and the team that put them out of the
tournament won the championship game. Both felt it was a
great experience as they both were challenged playing and
coaching at such a high level.
They hope to return to ESPN wide world of sports next summer
and compete again in the USSSA All-American Games.
Drama Club
The Clear Creek High School/Middle School Drama Club
fall play The Craving, by written by Dan Zolidis, and
directed by English teacher Deborah Sandblom, will be
performed November 9-12 in the auditorium. The play is
a hysterical comedy about a lovely, romantic script turned
Zombie/Slasher flick by ruthless Hollywood producers.
We are looking for students and parents to help with set,
lighting, sound, costumes, make-up, props, backstage,
box office, artwork, advertising, concessions, etc.
Please contact Ms. Sandblom at
[email protected] to volunteer.
Don’t miss out on the fun!
