Practicing Throwing on the Run
Opposite Foot Drill Stand with your trail foot forward about heel to toe relation, role up onto
the toes as you release the ball
Normal Foot Drill Stand with your lead foot forward about heel to toe relation, role up onto
the toes as you release the ball
Down the Line 10 15 yards apart running across the field, turn the upper body at the
waist and shorten the steps as you get ready to throw, role up onto the
toes as you release the ball
Sprint Out Drill Open to the sprint out side, aiming for a depth of 7 yards, turn at the waist,shorten the steps, role up onto the toes as you release the ball, followthrough by running through the target

Practicing Pocket Awareness & Movement
Wave Drill Rt, Lt, Up, Back, Diagonal Short choppy steps, keep ball loaded, maintain good pre-pass stance
Progression Feet 5 step drop, upon set the coach calls out Rt, Lt, middle, the QB should
shift his feet in the called direction and maintain a good Pre-Pass stanceuntil told to throw
Pocket Bags/Cones Lie 3 bags or 3 rows of cones down, QB should start from and maintain the
Pre-Pass stance, Coach calls out forwards, backwards, zigzag, and throw
Escape Drill 5 step drop, avoid the rush by escaping the pocket, back door, front door, or
up and out. Keep good ball placement as you escape the pocket, so youwill be able to throw at any time.
