INTRODUCTION
3
1. My context: a career in institutional advancement
2. I will present a lot of data/analytics. The main importance is the story I
present with these data, data are used as illustrations.
3. Central message: data from different sources have limited value for
strategic analytics when applied separately, but when combined, the
value will grow substantially, illustrations on 73 global business schools
4. Slides and additional materials can be used ad “data-book”
5. Disclaimer: My presentation is not a formal statement of RSM policies.
It is an invitation for new thinking on strategic analytics.
MY APPROACH: COMBINING 3 DATA SOURCES

Conclusions
24
CONCLUSIONS
25
1. Combining AACSB data with ranking data reveals the different patterns in
portfolio composition for ranking groups (top25, sub25, etc) over the years
2. Combining AACSB data with SCIVAL data shows the pattern of quality
publishing and the development of the market share in 4-4* journals over the
years
3. Combining AACSB data, SCIVAL data and Ranking data makes it possible to
analyze the productivity differences between schools for both degrees
(quantity) and 4-4* publications (quality)
4. Productivity will probably benefit from more intensive co-authoring between
business schools
