1. INTRODUCTION
Vidya Academy of Science & Technology Technical Campus (VAK), Kilimanoor is the second
Engineering college of Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT), a NRI venture functioning
in the higher educational field of Kerala State since 2001. VICT is backed by more than 1200
trustees, all NRIs. VICT started its first Engineering College, Vidya Academy of Science &

with 240 students in four branches of Engineering, the college has grown to a centre of
excellence with an intake of 480 students for B Tech, 60 for MCA and 60 for M Tech every year.
Vidya has become a trend setter in professional education in the state by providing
maximum opportunities to its students to avail scholarships through the ‘Scholarship
Program’. This scheme since inception has provided various scholarships to meritorious
students. Also, Vidya offers several endowments and other financial assistance to help
the needy students from financially and socially backward sections of the society.
After stabilizing the first college at Thrissur, armed with 10 years’ experience of successful
management of a professional college, VICT expanded its operations to southern Kerala by
starting VIDYA ACADEMY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY TECHNICAL CAMPUS
(VAK) at Malakkal, Kilimanoor Panchayat off MC Road from Thattathumala
Thiruvananthapuram Dist. The college started functioning in 2013 and four batches have passed
out, placing the institution in high position among other institutions in the State. All
